The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 655

Lola’s eyes sparkled with curiosity. “What’s she like?”

David’s expression softened. “She’s beautiful. She’s smart, talented, and has this incredible spirit. She’s just… amazing. Honestly, she shines wherever she goes.”

“Wow.” Lola grinned. “You sound just like you’re talking about my mommy. My mommy is like that too.”

Her mommy really did shine.

David smiled, understanding completely. In every child’s eyes, their mother was the best in the world.

But to him, no one could ever shine brighter than Ella.

Lola tilted her head. “Are you together with the person you like?”

David shook his head. “Not yet. I haven’t gotten the chance to tell her how I feel.”

Lola accepted this with a thoughtful nod.

They reached room 808. David stopped. “This is it. Let me ring the bell.”

He pressed the button, and the faint chime sounded from inside.

Ella was already waiting in her room. When she heard the bell, her assistant stood up. “I’ll get it.”

Ella held up a hand. “It’s okay, I’ll go. I know Lola will want to see me first.”

She walked to the door herself.

Outside, David glanced down at Lola. “Hey, what’s your name?”

“You can just call me Lola.”

Lola. What a lovely name.

David knelt down a little. “And what’s your mommy’s name? How should I address her?”

“My mommy is called Ella.”

My mommy is called Ella.

Ella had been pregnant when she left three years ago. The timing… it all made sense. She had given birth to Lola.

Ella’s voice trembled. “Mr. Harmon… Why are you here?”

She quickly scooped Lola out of his arms, holding her close.

David tried to steady himself. “Ella, is Lola your daughter?”

Ella nodded. “Yes.”

Lola looked up at her mom, a little confused but happy. “Mommy, do you know him?”

Ella met her daughter’s eyes. “Lola, is Mr. Harmon the cute guy you were talking about?”

Lola nodded eagerly. “Yep!”

Blood ties really were impossible to fight. Whether she wanted it or not, Lola had found David and brought him into her stories.

David’s voice was tight. He stared at Ella, searching her expression. “Ella, is Lola your and Wyatt’s daughter?”
