The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 664

After Lilly left, Ella took Lola’s hand and started heading back to the hotel. “Come on, Lola. Let’s go.”

Lola nodded. “Okay, Mommy.”

“We’re flying back to Country F tomorrow. Is there anything else you want to do here in the Capital?” Ella asked as they walked.

“Are we really leaving so soon?” Lola looked up, her eyes wide.

Ella smiled softly. “Yes, sweetheart.”

“But I still want to play with that cute guy.”

Ella’s lashes fluttered. She hadn’t expected Lola to still be thinking about David.

“Lola, he is probably really busy right now. Let’s not bother him, okay? I can play with you.”

Before Lola could answer, a familiar voice rang out behind them. “Ella, what a coincidence.”

Ella looked up and saw Jessa walking over, her smile a little too sweet.

“Are you out to dinner with your daughter?” Jessa asked, glancing between Ella and Lola. “Isn’t it funny? David and I are meeting here too. Mrs. Harmon will be joining us later so we can talk about our wedding. You knew David and I are getting married, right?”

Ella met Jessa’s gaze, her own smile calm and polite. “I didn’t know before, but I do now. So, what are you trying to say?”

Jessa leaned in, lowering her voice just a little. “I’m saying David is my fiancé. You wouldn’t try to steal my fiancé, would you, Ella?”

Before Ella could respond, a deep voice interrupted them. “What are you talking about?”

Ella turned and saw David walking over, tall and as handsome as ever.

Jessa hurried to his side, slipping her arm through his. “David, you’re here.”

David’s eyes moved past Jessa and landed on Ella.

David didn’t reply.

Ella stepped closer. “Lola, he already picked you up. Now let’s go back. He is busy, and we shouldn’t keep him.”

David could tell Ella didn’t want him getting too close to Lola. Did she think he’d hurt her?

Lola looked at him, her voice soft. “Mommy and I are leaving tomorrow.”

He blinked, surprised. “You’re leaving tomorrow?”

Ella nodded. “Yes. Everything I needed to do here is done, so we’re heading back.”

David stared at her for a long moment. She had just arrived, and now she was already leaving. But what reason did he have to ask her to stay? She had a daughter now. She had Wyatt. How could he possibly step into her happiness?

Jessa, on the other hand, looked thrilled. “David, Mrs. Harmon should be here soon. Let’s go to our private room.”
