The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 733

Moss knocked on the door again. “Joanna, it’s me. Come on, open up. I need to talk to you.”

Joanna sat on her bed, arms crossed, refusing to answer.

“Joanna, I know you’re in there. Open the door. I’m counting to three. If you don’t open it, I swear I’ll kick it down.”

From outside, the maid’s worried voice floated in. “Mr. Wade, please, don’t kick the door. Let’s talk this out, please.”

Moss started counting anyway. “One… two…”

Joanna sighed and got up, flinging the door open.

Moss stood in the hallway, tall and imposing. He looked like he’d rushed straight over, a black coat thrown over his silk pajamas, navy slippers still on his feet, hair a mess. He looked both desperate and completely out of place.

Joanna glared at him. “What are you doing here? You’re not welcome. Go back to Louise.”

Moss’s expression tightened. “Joanna, listen to me. Nothing happened with Louise.”

She rolled her eyes. “How many times are you going to say that? If nothing happened, what did I just see? I literally caught you in bed with her. Stop lying. If you’re going to cheat, at least own it. Don’t make me lose even more respect for you.”

She moved to shut the door in his face.

But Moss pressed his hand firmly against the door, holding it open with zero effort.

“Let go,” Joanna snapped, trying to shove the door closed. She barely budged it. He didn’t even flinch.

“Moss, what do you want?”

He looked down at her with a cold little smile. “You’re right. If I did something, I’d admit it. But I didn’t. Nothing happened with Louise.”

Joanna opened her mouth to argue, but Moss cut her off.

She saw the heat in his gaze and swallowed. “I… I don’t know.”

“Then let me remind you.”

He leaned down and kissed her, hard.

Joanna’s eyes flew wide. She started fighting, pushing at his chest, kicking her legs, trying to get him off.

“Moss, get off me! I don’t even know what you brought back from Louise’s bed. I’m not trying to catch anything. Let go of me!”

Moss grabbed her wrists and pinned them above her head.

“For the last time, I didn’t touch Louise. The only person I want is you.”
