The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 757

“That day is never going to happen,” David said, his voice steady. “I’m not marrying her.”

Ella crossed her arms. “Well, I’m definitely not marrying you.”

“Why not?”

She opened her mouth to answer, but David beat her to it. “Ella, I know we’ve been through a lot, but the truth is, I’ve only ever loved you. I never walked away from us. Please, just give me another chance. Can we start over?”

“David, we…”

Before she could finish, he caught her chin and pressed his lips to hers, swallowing her words with a kiss that left no room for argument.

Ella’s hands went to his chest to push him away, but he didn’t budge. “David, stop. Let go of me.”

He looked straight into her eyes. “I’m not letting go. Don’t tell me you don’t love me. I know all about Wyatt. He’s just your friend, isn’t he?”

Ella’s heart stuttered. She hadn’t expected him to figure that out.

“Ella, I haven’t been with anyone else these years. And I know you haven’t either. You still love me. I love you too.”

Her resolve faltered, just a little. “I don’t love you.”

He smiled, a little cocky, a little tender. “You say that, but the way you melt in my arms says otherwise.”

David kissed her again, harder this time, his lips hungry for her. Ella hated herself for it, hated that her body remembered too well how good it felt to be close to him. Memories from three years ago flashed through her mind—how perfectly they fit together, the way they used to push each other to the edge and then tumble over it, breathless and satisfied.

She tried to push him away again. “David, please, don’t.”

She grabbed his collar and pulled him close, her eyes sparkling. “Tonight, I’m the one calling the shots.”

He smirked. “So what am I to you? Just a toy?”

She smiled, wicked and sweet. “You can be whatever I want.”

His gaze burned into her. “Did you miss me these past three years? Especially at night, when you were all alone… did you think about me?”

Ella’s voice was barely a whisper. “I did.”

“What did you think about?”

She nipped at his jaw and leaned in close, her breath hot against his ear. “I thought about devouring you whole.”
