Rachel was stressing over how to deal with her clothes being drenched in sweat when Malcolm showed up unexpectedly.
She felt awkward right away. "Why didn't you knock before coming in, Uncle Malcolm?"
Did Malcolm need to knock? He was taken aback for a moment, then got irritated. Rachel actually picked on him because of Matthew.
Malcolm was the eldest sibling in the family. Since Fred was always away on business trips, he was the one in charge. Everyone in the family showed him respect when they saw him.
Rachel would typically show Malcolm some respect, but she had become so rude to him because of Matthew.
Malcolm's face immediately darkened. "Do I really need to knock before entering your room, Rachel? What do you take me for? Am I one of your subordinates?"
Rachel was afraid to stand up because her clothes were soaked with sweat and sticking to her skin. She was in a really embarrassing situation.
Hoping to hide her sorry state, she grabbed a folder and started organizing her desk, perfectly blocking her chest.
Seeing Malcolm snap at her, Rachel sternly retorted, "Keep it professional in the company. I don't care IF we're related by blood. I'm the president, so everyone needs to knock before entering."
Malcolm clenched his teeth. "Fine then. So even though I'm your uncle, that doesn't change anything, huh?"
As Malcolm spoke, he glanced at Matthew beside him, and it made him even more upset.
Rachel wasn't married to Matthew yet, and she was already defending him this much. She even showed no respect to Malcolm. If she tied the knot with him, Wealthwave Group might have ended up under the Grant family.
Just thinking about it made Malcolm even more pissed off. He scoffed and turned around to leave, slamming the door as he walked out of the office.
Rachel furrowed her brows, realizing she'd been a bit harsh with her tone earlier. Feeling annoyed, she glared at Matthew.
"It's all because of you. If you're done here, you should leave. I've got work to do."
Rachel's eyes lit up. After hearing it all, she looked confused. "What kind of treatments, tests, and drugs are you talking about?"
Matthew recalled how little he used to know about malpractice in the medical industry and decided to elaborate further.
"Ineffective treatment happens with diseases like cancer. Even though it's obvious they can't be cured, they go ahead with surgery and chemotherapy anyway.
"As a result, healthy cells are destroyed, and the patient's lifespan is shortened. That's effectively wasting the patient's time and money—the ineffective treatment.
"As for unnecessary tests, some doctors can diagnose the problem right away, and a cheap prescription will do the job. But they still insist on blood tests, CT scans, X-rays, and everything else.
"Ineffective medications are drugs that don't treat the illness but have no side effects. Many doctors still prescribe whole boxes of them to patients.
"Situations like these make up to 80% of the treatment expenses. I want to bring medicine back to just focusing on helping people and saving lives."
