The Great Medical Saint (Matthew) novel Chapter 948

The door creaked open as Brian smiled and began, "Why did you lock—" He froze mid-sentence as he glimpsed the bodies lying on the operating room floor through the doorway.

Before he could react, a large hand shot out and yanked him inside by his collar. The door slammed shut behind him.

"What are you doing?" Brian shouted. "This is a hospital—a place for saving lives. Stop this madness!"

Matthew threw Brian at Devin's feet and said simply, "He's all yours."

Devin grabbed a rubber baton from the floor and swung it down hard on Brian's leg. Brian's agonized scream echoed through the room as he clutched his leg.

"Did something happen to your family during treatment? Don't hit me—we can resolve this! I'm the hospital director; name your price, and I'll make it happen immediately!"

"My son is dead," Devin growled. "No amount of money can fix that!" He brought the baton down again.

"Stop!" Brian screamed. "I'll compensate you for your son, but if you hurt me, you'll go to prison without getting anything. Think about it!"

Devin completely lost control at the mention of prison. "You're trafficking organs and killing people—you're the one who belongs in prison! Die!"

The baton came down repeatedly, each strike followed by Brian's piercing screams. Devin seemed to have lost his mind, striking relentlessly as Brian writhed on the floor.

As the blows rained down, Brian screamed, "I'm not the mastermind! I swear I'm not! Please stop!"

"You're the hospital director. Who else could it be?" Devin snarled, striking him again.

"I'm just the director! If I were in charge and got reported, I'd be fired immediately!" Brian gasped in pain. "The real mastermind is someone above me!"

Devin paused. "Who is it?"

"I can't just tell you... They're extremely powerful," Brian replied, gasping in pain. "One of the most influential people in Lambda City. Even if I told you, you couldn't touch them!"
