The Great Medical Saint (Matthew) novel Chapter 983

Nicholas narrowed his eyes, fixing his cold gaze on Matthew. "You're giving up on being a doctor, aren't you?"

His voice wasn't loud, but it was enough to send a chill down the listener's spine. He looked seriously pissed.

Standing at the side, Ansel looked worried. Nicholas didn't get upset often, but each time was a huge deal. Recalling it now still gave him the chills.

Ansel kept giving Matthew signals, hoping he'd be more careful with his words.

Sporting a smile, Matthew seemed to be oblivious to Ansel's signals and spoke to Nicholas. "You're right. I don't plan to be a doctor at all."

Nicholas' gaze hardened. "Think carefully before you talk."

Ansel felt his heart jump to his throat. He wanted to say something, but he only opened his mouth with no words coming out. He knew he didn't have the right to say anything when Nicholas was talking.

Matthew kept smiling. "I never planned on being a doctor, but I can help when I see a patient. I charge whatever I want. Sometimes 20 million dollars, sometimes 200 million dollars, or maybe nothing at all."

Nicholas stared at Matthew. "Keep going."

Matthew noticed Nicholas still puffing his cheeks, looking like an angry toad. The image of the toad made him grin brighter.

"Traditional medicine is losing popularity because it's too affordable. The old method of brewing traditional medicine is so simple that people look down on it.

"Doctors practicing modern medicine dismiss traditional medicine, and even the patients don't respect it. That's why I want to raise its status so high that everyone realizes how valuable it is."

Nicholas' expression softened, and his gaze became gentler. "That's a good idea, but with prices that high, who can afford it?

"Traditional medicine isn't meant for the wealthy. It's for all the people who are sick and need help."

Matthew nodded. "That's why I don't do clinics. Those who do it have to charge reasonably, so every patient can afford traditional medicine when they are ill."
