The Healing Avenger novel Chapter 355

When Jasper left the scene, Kieran felt that aside from himself, there were no other candidates for the position of president.

Unexpectedly, Finnegan had actually nominated Yadiel.

He felt a slight heaviness in his chest, a sense of suffocation.

However, he dared not reveal too much on his face. “Mr. Larkin, let's forget about Mr. Sherman. He has no interest in the position of president. You should nominate someone else!”

Aside from Yadiel, he was confident that there was no one within Nuthana Martial Arts Alliance who could rival him.

Yadiel nodded and took over the conversation. “Mr. Larkin, I truly have no interest in the position of president. I suggest you nominate someone else. I'd rather use my spare time to enhance my martial arts skills!”

After Kieran heard Yadiel's words, a cold smirk appeared on his face.

As long as Yadiel did not participate, Kieran was confident that he could win, no matter who Finnegan nominated.

Even those who were nominated didn't have the courage to step up and compete against him.

Meanwhile, Finnegan had anticipated this outcome long ago.

With a gentle smile, he set down the teacup in his hand. “Mr. Sherman, I understand your pursuit of martial arts. But true strength is never the strength of one individual. It's the strength of a group.”

Upon hearing this, Yadiel was puzzled.

Finnegan asked, “As a member of the Martial Arts Alliance, haven't you ever considered leading everyone to become stronger? Do you only want to become stronger by yourself?”

Yadiel quickly clarified, “Of course not. I hope the Martial Arts Alliance will become even stronger, with each individual capable of holding their own.”

“Given that, why don't you become a leader who guides everyone to strength?”

Yadiel's brow furrowed deeply, his face reflecting deep thought.

Knowing that he had already persuaded Yadiel, Finnegan continued, “Moreover, being the president does not conflict with your pursuit of martial arts. Take our chairman, for example. Has leading the Martial Arts Alliance made him slack in his own martial arts? It doesn't seem so, does it? Before he became the association's chairman, he was merely of the Terra Realm. But now, he's at the Ether Realm. Furthermore, he's ranked at the very top among the Five Unparalleled!”

After Kieran heard Finnegan's attempts to guide and persuade Yadiel, his face slightly darkened.

His tone carried a hint of impatience. “Mr. Larkin, if Mr. Sherman is unwilling, let's not force him into a difficult position.”

“Many thanks to Mr. Larkin for his guidance. I initially was indeed narrow-minded.”

As a result, at this moment, Yadiel stood up.

Kieran's eyelids twitched. “Mr. Sherman?”

Yadiel declared, “Mr. Larkin's words have been a revelation to me, making me realize how narrow-minded I've been in the past, always thinking only of myself. Therefore, I've made a decision. I will participate in the presidential election, leading everyone toward collective growth and strength!”

The corners of Kieran's mouth twitched, his hands under the table clenched into fists.

A hint of sinister darkness had further deepened in his eyes.

He hadn't expected that Finnegan's few words would persuade Yadiel, who was initially indifferent to the position of the president.

Finnegan revealed a satisfied smile. “If Mr. Sherman has come to understand, then there's no need to waste any more time. Mr. Marlowe, you should stand up, too.”

With a gloomy expression, Kieran rose to his feet. The corner of his eyes flashed a ruthless glance toward Finnegan.

However, Finnegan seemed oblivious. Pointing at Kieran and Yadiel, he addressed the crowd, “The two candidates for the presidency are right here, so let's adopt the simplest and most direct method. Whoever has more supporters will be the next vice president of Nuthana Martial Arts Alliance. Let's start with Mr. Marlowe. Those who believe he could lead Nuthana Martial Arts Alliance more effectively, raise your hands!”

The guild leaders and elders began to stir, quietly communicating and discussing amongst themselves.

Kieran knew that this matter was hard to resist. He had no choice but to suppress his frustration and speak up. “Everyone, we've been working together for many years. I believe you all understand my character. As long as you support me, I will certainly not let you down!”

Finnegan gave a playful smile.

This Kieran is subtly bribing everyone!

But is everyone a fool?

Just wait. Once I become the president, I'll make you all sweat!

D*mn it!

Even those who had considered abstaining ended up raising their hands.

That was because they knew Kieran's personality all too well.

Even if he wouldn't seek revenge on them later, he would definitely make things difficult for them.

Rather than this, it would have been better to let Yadiel ascend to power directly.

The number of votes supporting Yadiel quickly surpassed seventeen and eventually reached twenty-one, firmly suppressing Kieran.

“I refuse to accept this!”

Upon seeing that there were more people supporting Yadiel than himself, Kieran angrily exclaimed, “Mr. Larkin, you are deliberately favoring him, leading everyone to vote for Yadiel. I won't accept this. I'm going to lodge a complaint with the chairman!”

Narrowing his eyes, Finnegan rose to his feet. “Are you implying that I'm not being fair and just?”

“That's right!” At this moment, Kieran could no longer care about anything else. “You deliberately led everyone to believe that those who didn't support me would face retaliation. You are blatantly favoring Yadiel!”

With a cold laugh, Finnegan said, “Is that so? Why don't you ask everyone if I've led them astray?”

People supporting Yadiel spoke up one after another. “Mr. Marlowe, don't speak nonsense. We chose to support Mr. Sherman on our own accord, and it has nothing to do with Mr. Larkin.”

Kieran's features contorted as he realized he was simply no match for Finnegan's craftiness.

With a light cough, Finnegan walked past him, hands clasped behind his back. “Considering your slip of the tongue was unintentional, I'll forgive you this time.”

Josef sighed quietly, admiring his mentor's wisdom. He also stood up and announced, “The voting results are in. From today onwards, Yadiel will be the president of Nuthana Martial Arts Alliance. I hope everyone will fully cooperate and unite as one!”

Everyone rose to their feet, greeting in unison, “Congratulations, Mr. Sherman!”

The expression on Kieran's face had completely darkened as rage burned in his eyes.
