The Healing Avenger novel Chapter 358

“Let me go! Let me go!”

Nuthana Martial Arts Alliance was specifically designated to accommodate visiting colleagues and serve as the residential area for the Martial Arts Alliance disciples. Bernice was escorted into a two-story mansion by two members of the Martial Arts Alliance. No matter how much she struggled and screamed, she couldn't break free.

Standing behind, Corbin, whose face was still swollen, trailed along in a drunken stupor.

After being knocked unconscious by Josef, he woke up to the realization that his family no longer had the chance to control Nuthana Martial Arts Alliance. This left him feeling persistently stifled and frustrated.

And so, he went out to drink and vent with a group of people.

Then, he encountered Bernice and Nicolette, who were out shopping, and immediately harbored ill intentions, inviting them.

After being rejected, he immediately let anger get the better of him, ordering his subordinates to forcibly take the ladies away.

“Darn it. One got away. Otherwise, it would have been twice the fun!”

However, when he thought of Nicolette, who had slipped away when he was not paying attention, Corbin spat in annoyance.

That was because whether it was Bernice or Nicolette, both ladies were his cup of tea.

However, when he saw Bernice's stunningly beautiful face and her graceful figure, much of his gloominess dissipated. “At least the more exquisite one didn't get away. Take her up to my room and keep her there for now,” he said.

“Let me go, or my fiancé will not spare any of you,” Bernice exclaimed.

However, Corbin didn't think much of it. He waved his hand, signaling for someone to take her upstairs first, while he himself went to pour a large glass of water.

In the afternoon, he had consumed quite a bit of alcohol, and now he was feeling somewhat parched.

After gulping down a large glass of water, he felt somewhat better. He walked over to the corner, picked up the pants he had changed out of the night before, and rummaged inside to find a small box of medicine.

He took out one pill and promptly ate it.

“Once I've had my fill of enjoyment, I'll settle the score with that worthless commissary. Daring to use trivial matters as a decree, he caused our Luzon family to lose the opportunity to control Nuthana Martial Arts Alliance.”

As he spoke, his anger only grew. Corbin picked up another pill and swallowed it, seemingly wanting to vent all his frustrations on Bernice.

With the combined effect of two small pills and the stimulation of alcohol, Corbin quickly began to feel their influence.

He walked toward the upper floor with a sinister smile. “My fair lady, I have arrived.”

“Mr. Corbin!”

Two subordinates were standing guard at the entrance.

Corbin waved his hand dismissively. “Leave. I don't want anyone eavesdropping!”

The two subordinates subsequently retreated.

Rubbing his hands together, Corbin pushed open the door with a sly grin. “My pretty girl, have you missed me?”

“Don't you dare! My fiancé won't let you off the hook!”

Nervously, Bernice backed up until she was leaning against the wall.

When Corbin saw this, his blood began to boil even more.

Licking his lips, he locked the door behind him. Rubbing his hands together, he advanced toward Bernice. “Unless your fiancé is Nuthana's Langdon and Wahlstrom families, or perhaps the eldest son of the Wright family, no one else matters. I would still enjoy you right in front of him!”

As soon as his words fell, he lunged toward Bernice like a hungry wolf craving for its meal.

Quickly, Bernice dodged to the left, causing him to lunge at nothing but air.

Corbin wasn't the least bit annoyed. Instead, he was even more excited. “Oh, oh, oh, the little beauty wants to play a game of cat and mouse with me. Sure!”

He immediately turned around and lunged forward.

And yet, he was ultimately an Enigma Realm fighter of Intermediate Rank. Even if he appeared slightly sluggish after drinking, he was not someone that Bernice, an ordinary person, could easily evade at any given time.

Just as she was about to dodge, her right arm was seized by Corbin.

Annoyed, Bernice waved her hand. “Let go of me!”

With a crisp smack, Corbin was struck by a slap, taking it squarely.

Originally, Corbin's swelling from being hit by Josef had not yet subsided. Bernice's slap directly triggered his memory.

Already in a foul mood, Corbin raised his hand in anger. “D*mn it! Some people just don't appreciate kindness!”

Bernice was promptly slapped twice.

He shouted at a subordinate who had just come out, “Get people from Nuthana Martial Arts Alliance over here quickly. Someone is disregarding the authority of the Martial Arts Alliance and provoking us!”

Suddenly, he had a plan.

After all, not many people in the Martial Arts Alliance recognized Finnegan, the special commissary of the chairman.

He thought he could feign ignorance and besiege him to death, then later accuse Finnegan of unprovoked infighting.

However, this guy is really attacking me without any rhyme or reason.

“Finnegan!”

Just as he was thinking, Bernice, enduring her bodily pain, rushed out onto the balcony.

Corbin's pupils constricted sharply, and in an instant, he understood. “Is he your fiancé?”

“Bernie!”

With a single sweep of his foot, Finnegan sent two Martial Arts Alliance disciples flying. When he looked up, he saw Bernice, her cheeks red and swollen. She was in a state of disarray.

A surge of anger welled up within him, a wave of murderous intent rising. “Corbin, your life is mine!”

The momentum of his charge grew even more ferocious. The dozen or so people who stood in the way couldn't withstand the powerful impact. They were all sent flying by the force.

Some, who were lucky, fainted, while some had their ribs broken.

“D*mn it!”

Unexpectedly, Bernice's fiancé turned out to be Finnegan, and astonishingly, Finnegan possessed such skills.

Recalling what Jasper had said earlier, Corbin began to feel somewhat panicked.

If Finnegan were to attack him without reason, he would not fear. He could pretend not to foresee the attack and be unafraid even if the siege led to his death.

But now, it was he who had seized Finnegan's fiancée first, so he was the one who was in the wrong initially.

Recalling that the chairman, Walter, had once been saved by Finnegan...

Corbin could no longer keep his composure. He hurriedly ran back to his room to find his phone and called Jasper. “Dad, I've gotten into trouble! I had my eye on a woman, only to find out she's Finnegan's fiancée!”
