The Healing Avenger novel Chapter 378

“Was it really not you?”

“Nonsense. If it were me, I would live a solitary life, okay?”

Seeing that Finnegan didn't seem to be lying, Romona dispelled her suspicions.

She said, “Their deaths are suspicious and brutal.”

Sabrina died in the restroom of one of Golden Archway's private rooms, and Christopher died on a property owned by the Royle family.

Moreover, both were found without clothes, covered in dozens of deep, bone-exposing knife wounds.

Yet the most peculiar and brutal part was, no one noticed their murder. Their heads had been severed and to this day, still had not been found.

Finnegan asked, “Wasn't anything captured on the surveillance cameras?”

Romona replied, “The surveillance cameras only captured them entering the room and the restroom. Nothing unusual was recorded beyond that. Therefore, the police department can only proceed cautiously now to avoid causing social panic.”

Finnegan pinched his nose. “How strange!”

With the brutality of their deaths, there should have been some noise. Why did no one hear anything?

If the surveillance cameras were intact, how did the perpetrator avoid both the surveillance and people?

After all, people often party at Golden Archway until dawn, and there should be bodyguards at Christopher's residence.

In a hushed tone, Romona asked, “If it wasn't you, could it have been supernatural beings? I've heard that some people who are skilled in sorcery kill in a way that leaves no trace.”

“Could you stop focusing solely on nourishing your boobs and start giving nutrients to your brain?”

Without any hesitation, Finnegan cast her a scornful look.

Visibly agitated, Romona demanded, “What do you mean?”

“It couldn't have been someone who practiced sorcery,” Finnegan stated. “Although they do possess the ability to kill invisibly, they can't do it without making a sound. Not to mention, they wouldn't decapitate the victim and take the head away after the deed!”

Romona retorted defiantly, “Then tell me, aside from you, who else would have the motive to take them both down at the same time?”

Finnegan retorted, “Couldn't it be that someone is trying to frame me?”

As Romona mentioned, aside from him having conflicts with both, no one else seemed to have a motive.

Moreover, both were killed the same night they had a conflict with him.

Now accustomed to conspiracy theories, Finnegan thought it might be someone trying to frame him, stirring up conflicts between him with the Royle family, Leonardo, and even Tyrone.

Romona slapped her thigh. “Right, how did I not think of that possibility? However, you've offended so many people, all of whom have the potential and power to frame you. How do we investigate?”

Almost simultaneously, Beckett's shout echoed from the garden. “Get out of the way, let Finnegan come out and explain to me. Why did he go back on his word and kill my son? Where did he take my son's head?”

Romona furrowed her brow. “It seems the possibility you mentioned is true. Someone wants to frame you!”

Finnegan sighed lightly as he rose. “Enough, I'll handle it myself. Stay here and don't go out. It isn't suitable for you to show yourself.”

“What are you planning to do then?”

Shrugging his shoulders, Finnegan left the room without giving a response.

Outside the mansion, he saw Beckett leading dozens of bodyguards barging in.

Additionally, Leonardo had arrived, bringing one or two hundred thugs armed with knives and sticks.

“Finnegan, you scoundrel. You went back on your word!”

The pain of losing a child made Beckett no longer hesitate in cursing Finnegan directly upon seeing him.

On the other hand, Leonardo, suppressing his anger, asked in a deep voice, “Mr. Larkin, did my cousin die at your hands?”

Beckett chimed in loudly, “Do we still need to ask? Besides him, who else had a grudge with both Chris and Sabrina?”

Finnegan walked down the steps, calmly looking at Leonardo. “If I say it wasn't me, do you believe me?”

Bang!

“What about you?” Finnegan turned around to look at him.

Suppressing the fear he had for Finnegan, Beckett responded loudly, “You killed my son, and even if I lack backbone, I must summon my courage now. Otherwise, I would be unworthy of being a father!”

Finnegan raised his hand. “Evidence!”

Beckett's momentum weakened a bit. “None. But it must be you who did it!”

Finnegan swiftly moved forward. With a swing of his hand, he sent him flying with a slap.

“How dare you accuse me when you don't have evidence? Do you think I'm a kind man?”

Upon seeing the situation, dozens of bodyguards quickly rushed over.

Before they could even approach Finnegan, Alisha and Mandy arrived with their men. “Who dares to make a move?”

Alisha gave orders to the men brought by Leonardo. “Block the men from the Royle family Anyone who dares to approach Mr. Larkin will be mercilessly killed!”

In an instant, nearly three hundred people had collectively surrounded the dozens of the Royle family's bodyguards.

Covering his face in anger, Beckett rebuked, “Ms. Wahlstrom, Ms. Langdon, what on earth are you doing? My son was murdered by him. Am I not even allowed to seek a bit of justice?”

As soon as he finished speaking, Finnegan approached again, lifting his leg to kick him away.

“Vixen, make him self-slap thirty times like Leonardo and kneel until evening. The rest, disperse!”

He then turned and walked into the mansion, returning to his room.

Romona, who had been observing from the room, asked, “What are you doing? This won't prove your innocence at all. Instead, it will make others think you are trying to intimidate them with your power!”

Finnegan said, “Just now, a possibility suddenly occurred to me. Perhaps the death of them could be attributed to two possible scenarios.

“Perhaps the deaths of Tian Sijin and the other person could be attributed to two possible scenarios. It was not only a revenge killing, but also a trap set against me!”
