The Healing Avenger novel Chapter 382

At that moment, years of experience as an assassin allowed Cameron to detect a whiff of danger. The hairs on his body subconsciously stood on end.

Yet, he couldn't sense where the danger was coming from.

After all, Finnegan and the others were five to six meters away from him. They simply couldn't harm him.

Whoosh!

Just as he was pondering why he was feeling that way and why Finnegan seemed fearless, the sound of a blade piercing flesh rang out.

In the next moment, a severe pain surged through Cameron's abdomen.

The previously kidnapped Rhiannon seemed as if she had become a different person.

In a swift motion, she seized his hand that held the knife, unleashing an aura of Intermediate Rank Terra Realm.

Meanwhile, she was gripping a dagger, which was ruthlessly plunged into Cameron's abdomen.

“Murder! There's been a murder!” Suddenly, Stanley let out a cry of surprise and fell to the ground, shivering uncontrollably.

Lindsey and Nancy also came to their senses. “Rhia?”

At that moment, Cameron finally reacted. With a furious roar, he forcefully endured the pain and repelled “Rhiannon,” who was rapidly retreating.

He didn't understand what was going on, how the delicate Rhiannon had suddenly become a Terra Realm Grandmaster.

All he knew was that he had to leave immediately, or else he would have met his end here that night.

However, Doom Star and Duncan had already materialized, effectively blocking his retreat.

They attacked Cameron directly.

At the height of his prowess, Cameron dared not claim he could duel with the duo, let alone when he was injured.

He had no choice but to dodge quickly, attempting to escape from the orchard.

In a flash, “Rhiannon” transformed into a white shadow, positioning herself in front of him.

With a hardened heart, Cameron had no choice but to give up.

He quickly retreated toward the riverbank.

“Tonight, there's no escaping for you!” Finnegan had anticipated everything.

How could he let Cameron escape?

With a single step, he appeared ghost-like by the riverbank, effectively blocking Cameron's only way of retreat.

“You can't hold me back!” Cameron roared, though he refrained from battling Finnegan.

He was well aware that if he got entangled in a fight, there would be no chance of escape.

Once again, he changed direction, charging toward the direction of Lindsey and her group.

Bennett quickly stepped forward. “Step back!”

“Did you think you can stop me?” With a sinister smile, Cameron swiftly seized Bennett by the neck, effectively taking him hostage.

By the time Finnegan and his group had surrounded Cameron, the latter had already completely hidden behind Bennett. “Finnegan, I told you that you wouldn't be able to keep me here tonight. Not unless you can disregard this gentleman's death!”

“Dad!” In her anxiety, Nancy was about to rush forward.

Fortunately, Lindsey stopped her. “Don't go over there.”

Finnegan said in a deep voice, “Ms. Lindsey, come over here.”

Lindsey nodded, quickly urging Stanley to join her in pulling Nancy over to Finnegan's side.

“Cameron, have you forgotten something?” A hint of amusement flashed in Finnegan's eyes.

Upon hearing this, Cameron furrowed his brows. “What have I forgotten?”

Then, Finnegan suddenly raised his hand and knocked out the anxious Nancy.

Suddenly, Cameron realized something. “Damn it!”

He remembered the last time he had nearly taken out Finnegan was at Bennett Farmhouse.

Cameron's body momentarily stilled, the color in his eyes solidifying. How could this have happened?

If there was no issue with that “Rhiannon,” he could still successfully complete his mission and eliminate Finnegan.

Finnegan smirked. “Vixen, go check the restroom.”

Alisha nodded and entered the restroom. When she emerged, she was supporting a person who had fainted.

It was unmistakably Rhiannon!

Cameron's pupils contracted. “This?”

Finnegan said, “Disguise is not something only you can do. I am also very adept at it. In fact, my skills in disguise even surpass yours, to the point where you can't even recognize it!”

Upon hearing that, Cameron turned his gaze toward “Rhiannon.” Indeed, he couldn't discern any trace of disguise.

Finnegan continued, “As for how I knew you would show up tonight...”

Pausing, a deeper shade of mystery filled Finnegan's eyes. “Not only did I know that you would definitely show up tonight, but I also knew that you would certainly use Rhia as leverage against me. Do you believe me?”

“I believe you!” Cameron didn't hesitate in the slightest. “How on earth did you know, even making arrangements in advance? I wouldn't even report my actions to the organization!”

“What do you think?”

Cameron's breath hitched, a growing sense of panic flickering in his eyes. “Could it be that you...?”

Knowing that Cameron had already guessed it, Finnegan twisted his neck. “That's right. I already know your true identity. Are you still going to hide it?”

With a glint in his eyes, Cameron retorted, “No, there's no way you could know. Only my master knew my true face, but he was already killed by me when I completed my apprenticeship!”

“Is that so?” Finnegan said with a teasing smile. “The truth is, I knew who you were as soon as I returned from Capston. I also know that it was you who took out Sabrina and Christopher last night. I also know that your main reason for eliminating Sabrina and his crew was revenge and, secondly, to frame me!”

Cameron's body shuddered as he staggered a step backward.

He kept shaking his head. “Impossible, absolutely impossible!”

Ever since he had defeated his master upon graduation, he had always worn a mask, never revealing his true face to anyone. He couldn't accept that Finnegan had already discovered his true identity.

Finnegan sighed lightly, “It seems I must give you a taste of your own medicine before you'll acknowledge it!”
