The Healing Avenger novel Chapter 385

The next morning, Finnegan accompanied Bernice for breakfast. After seeing her off, he left Dragon Bay No. 1 Villa and went to Dragon Bay No. 2 Villa, where Mandy resided.

As she was here in Jadeborough just to seduce Finnegan, she approached him warmly. “Have you had breakfast? Shall I have the servant prepare something for you?”

The enthusiasm was palpable.

Finnegan gave her a strange look. “Mandy, do you have any peculiar habits?”

Mandy was puzzled. “Peculiar habits? No!”

“I think you do,” Finnegan said seriously.

If she didn't have any peculiar fondness, why did her enthusiasm intensify after being tormented by me?

Mandy's cheeks flushed red as the memory of being ruthlessly tormented by Finnegan surfaced in his mind.

She involuntarily tightened her legs a bit.

“Okay, go about your business.”

Seeing her like this, Finnegan couldn't be bothered to say more and went straight into the villa.

After bringing Lindsey back last night, Finnegan arranged her to stay with Mandy.

However, just as he arrived at the door of her bedroom, about to knock, Reynard called.

Finnegan had no choice but to step aside and answer the phone.

Immediately, Reynard's voice came through, “The news of Cameron's death has already spread on UnderNet. The reward for your mission has been adjusted, classified as an SS-level bounty.”

Finnegan asked, “Has the bounty increased as well?”

“The bounty hasn't increased,” Reynard replied. “But since Cameron was an S-level assassin, and you managed to kill him, it indicates that the difficulty of assassinating you is above S-level. So UnderNet adjusted the mission level to caution Blood Moon and others who might take the contract.”

Finnegan cursed, “This UnderNet is persistent, huh?”

With the mission level raised, only stronger assassins than Cameron would take the contract.

Reynard sighed. “Not exactly. Only if you are assassinated, UnderNet can take a cut from that billion. Otherwise, if the employer withdraws the bounty, UnderNet won't get a penny. And even if UnderNet doesn't change the mission level, Blood Moon may still send higher-level assassins after learning about Cameron's death.”

Finnegan let out a sigh. “Did you call to warn me to be careful in the future?”

“Sort of,” Reynard replied. “Because Blood Moon might send an SSS-level assassin next, comparable to an Ether Realm expert!”

Immediately, Finnegan's eyes widened in surprise.

In the next moment, he blurted out a curse, “Damn, do they really think so highly of me?”

This was only the second wave, and they were already sending someone comparable to an Ether Realm fighter.

Reynard's tone became serious. “It's not about thinking highly of you. It's Blood Moon's rule; only SSS-level difficulty individuals can execute such missions. Now that you are classified as SS level, Blood Moon might send an SSS-level assassin. While an SSS-level assassin may not necessarily be Senior Grandmaster in Ether Realm, they all possess the ability to slay a Senior Grandmaster in Ether Realm! Besides, organizations and assassins other than Blood Moon may also get involved to get a piece of the action. After all, Blood Moon is the second-ranked assassin organization in the world!”

Finnegan massaged his temples.

He asked, “So, according to you, even if I manage to find and eliminate Blood Moon's headquarters, it won't help. As long as the bounty remains, my head will never be safe?”

“Exactly,” Reynard confirmed.

Just after dealing with Cameron, Finnegan received this unpleasant news.

Finnegan sighed. “Continue investigating for me. See who is most likely to put a bounty on my head. I'll also be cautious on my side. If an SSS-level assassin comes, I'll bury them!”

After ending the call and adjusting his emotions, Finnegan walked over and knocked on the room's door.

But there was no response from within, as if there was no one there at all.

However, Finnegan knew Lindsey was there.

Sighing, Finnegan pushed the door open and saw Lindsey sitting on the bed, awake.

That was the end of the conversation, and Lindsey had to consider the rest on her own.

Lindsey looked out the window in agony, tears streaming down her face. “Brother,” she asked, “Stan, did you really do all these things? How could you be so ruthless?”

Finnegan left the villa and called Mandy. “Keep an eye on her. Until I nod, she can't step out of the villa and can't contact anyone, especially Rhia!”

Mandy nodded. “Got it!”

After giving his instructions, Finnegan didn't linger any longer. He returned to Dragon Bay No. 1 Villa.

In no time, Doom Star arrived, holding an urn.

Finnegan casually lifted his gaze and asked, “Is everything taken care of?”

Doom Star nodded, indicating that everything was taken care of.

“Then deliver it.” Finnegan waved his hand. “Hand the urn to Lindsey, and as for the rest, pretend not to know. Mention it briefly to Duncan.”

Doom Star turned around and left with the urn in his arms.

Left alone, Finnegan prepared to go back to his room for a shower and clean off the sweat from training.

But as soon as he entered the room and took off his clothes, the door was suddenly pushed open by someone.

A frantic-looking Alisha rushed in, her face pale and distressed.

Finnegan quickly shielded his vital parts. “Shit! Although I didn't close the bathroom door myself, could you at least knock before barging in?”

But Alisha seemed as if she had gone mad, rushing over and grabbing Finnegan's hand.

Finnegan was truly startled by her. “What are you doing? Are you resorting to force because you couldn't seduce me?”

“Something terrible has happened. My dad was suddenly attacked not long ago. My grandpa is currently on his way to bring him to Jadeborough. Hurry, come with me to the hospital and wait!”
