Millicent huffed, “Done chatting? Then let's go.”

“Mom,” Patrick called out to Millicent, “I'd like to talk to you before the signing.”

“What? You want to back out?”

Patrick shook his head. “I'm not trying to back out. I just want to propose a deal. If you agree, I'll accept all your demands. If not, then we'll just have to wait it out.”

“Patrick, you're out of line! Is this how you speak to your own mother?” Millicent was furious.

As he reflected on what Bernice had just said, a faint bitterness welled up in Patrick's heart.

However, on the surface, he still maintained a respectful attitude toward Millicent. “Mom, I can sign and agree to everything, even cooperate with you in taking over the Zimmerman family and the corporation. But afterward, you must let Finnegan treat Dad. How's that?”
