The Healing Avenger novel Chapter 402

As the sun set, Kathleen and Sasha, along with Quiana, made their way from the cliff behind the church.

Having waited for quite a while, Finnegan walked over and asked, “Mom, what took you so long?”

Quiana replied, “I was just going to pray for peace. But since Mrs. Miles knows the priest, I asked him to pray and bless our family with safety, which ended up taking more time than expected.”

Finnegan nodded and said, “Let's go, then. I'll have Hailey take you home. I have a dinner appointment tonight.”

“Mr. Larkin, feel free to attend to your matters. Sasha and I can take care of escorting your mother,” Kathleen offered.

Quiana nodded in agreement. “Yes, go ahead if you have things to attend to. Kathleen and I will continue our chat.”

A faint smile tugged at the corners of Finnegan's mouth.

Why do they seem so close now? But it's good for Mom to interact more with people from Mrs. Miles' circle I guess. That way she won't feel uncomfortable in the future.

Finnegan said, “Sorry for the trouble, Mrs. Miles.”

“No trouble at all!”

When everyone had descended the mountain, Wyatt arrived at the large locust tree from the cliff behind the church.

After glancing at Finnegan and the others as they descended the mountain, he turned back to look at Sunny, who had not moved from his spot. “Sunny, it seems you're out of luck again today.”

Sunny gave a gentle smile. “How about having meat fondue and some drink tonight?”

Wyatt chuckled. “In a church?”

Sunny said, “It doesn't matter as long as we have God in our hearts.”

“All right, I'll have someone arrange it. Let's drink at my place tonight.”

Sunny nodded, then turned to look down the mountain, his gaze focusing on Finnegan. “What is your opinion of that young man named Finnegan?”

Wyatt's smile faded. “What do you think, Sunny?”

Sunny's gaze deepened. “In my life of over a hundred years, I've seen many remarkable and extraordinary young people, but he stands out as the most outstanding among all the young talents I've encountered!”

After a pause, he added, “It seemed as though he saw right through me.”

Wyatt sighed. “It's not that it seemed as though he saw right through you. He has already seen through you.”

He then relayed the brief encounter he had with Finnegan to Sunny.

Upon listening, Sunny gave a slight nod, his face showing admiration. “Loang has produced another anomaly in this generation!”

Wyatt agreed, saying, “He's an anomaly who shows mercy with his left hand and wields a knife with his right.”

Sunny gazed at the gradually setting sun in the distance. “He reminds me of a predecessor. I wonder if there's any connection between them. If there truly is a connection, then it could signify the approach of another era of chaos.”

As dusk fell, Hailey drove Finnegan to Bennett Farmhouse.

Tonight, Bennett Farmhouse had several tables of guests, making it a bit livelier than usual.

However, Nancy had reserved the riverside pavilion that Finnegan and his group often frequented. As soon as Finnegan and Hailey got out of the car, she came over to greet them. “Finnegan, we have more guests tonight. You guys go ahead and sit for a while. I'll bring over some fruit for you all.”

“All right!”

Finnegan led Hailey over and they sat down.

A moment later, Nancy went over with a plate of fruit. “Finnegan, have some fruit first.”

After a pause, a faint blush spread across her face. “But there won't be any trouble tonight, right?”

Finnegan asked, “Why do you ask such a question?”

“You were in trouble the last few times you were here.”

Finnegan felt somewhat embarrassed by these words. It was as if she was treating him as a jinx. “There shouldn't be any issues tonight. Where would all these troubles come from?”

Finnegan rolled his eyes. Interesting, my ass. I'm neither a tragedy maker nor a jinx!

Sasha's right. Among the Four Beauties of Jadeborough, Waylynn is indeed the wildest.

Romona huffed, “Why aren't you speaking?”

Waylynn chimed in, “Exactly. Why was only Grandpa invited?”

A slight smile tugged at the corners of Finnegan's mouth. “Old Mr. Wright, is this a trait passed down in the Wright family? And why did you bring them?”

Nathan sat down with a smile, “It's quite normal for us to have a bit of a sharp edge, given our military background. I didn't bring them with me. They just happened to return home as I was about to leave.”

“I don't believe you!”

Romona chided, “Finnegan, what's with that tone?”

Waylynn waved her little fists. “That's right. Mind your manners when you speak. Otherwise, I'm going to whack you even if you've cured me.”

Damn! How is this fair?

Finnegan's lips twitched. He was truly at a loss for words.

“That's enough.” Nathan smiled. “You guys check if the dishes are ready. I'll chat with Finnegan for a bit.”

Upon hearing this, Stephen immediately responded, “All right, I'll go take a look.”

He strode forward without hesitation.

Waylynn and Romona followed suit after being stunned for a while. Hailey had already retreated to a distance when Nathan and his family arrived.

With no one else around, Nathan dropped his smile and asked, “Kid, what made you suddenly decide to treat me to roasted suckling pig?”

Finnegan stretched lazily and replied, “It's nothing serious. I just wanted to ask what you all really think about the matter with Regi Group. Also, to what extent do you tolerate the Zymons and Wahlstrom families? What kind of outcome are you hoping for?”

He paused, his gaze darkening. “If I were to confront Hank directly, could I take his life? I have a feeling that this b*stard might be coming to Jadeborough sooner than expected.”

After a moment of staring at Finnegan, Nathan responded, “You are bound to follow Dr. Aiello's wishes and enter Durbaine sooner or later. We need to give you some support. Of course, this is also beneficial for the Military Department. Even if it wasn't to give you a push, we would have made this decision! As for the Zymons and Wahlstrom families, it doesn't matter which of their two families goes down as long as the foundation remains unshaken and it doesn't cause widespread panic.”
