The Heiress’ Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call (Wynter Quinnell) novel Chapter 1924

Meanwhile, at Stellar Corporation in Havenia, Edwin Verel stood in the middle of the crowd, wearing a suit. "You've all been working here for a while now, and the boss has decided to reward everyone. We're organizing a team-building trip! Since there's not much to do around Havenia, we're heading overseas this time.

"The company will cover the round-trip tickets and all other expenses. However, there are limited spots. If you're interested, do sign up with your team leader."

Immediately, a wave of hushed chatter broke out among the employees.

"This company is amazing! We get the weekends off and a great salary, while having nothing much to do. I'm gonna work for our boss for the rest of my life!"

"Right? I never even dreamed of benefits like this after graduating. Having the weekends off, a light workload, and amazing pay—this is wonderful!"

"Mr. Verel, I wanna go!"

"Me too! A free overseas trip? That's awesome!"

The excitement spread like wildfire. Everyone wanted to go.

Edwin sighed. "It looks like everyone wants in."

"Yeah!"

He smiled. "Alright. I'll have a talk with the boss again and see if we can increase the number of spots. For now, get back to your tasks."

"Thank you, Mr. Verel! You're the best!"

He turned around, a sly smile forming on his face.

A few moments later, he walked into the boss' office. Leaning in slightly, he said, "Mr. Artie, I just made the announcement. I told them spots were limited, and now they're all fighting to sign up."

Seated behind the desk, Freddy Artie chuckled. "That's because we've been giving them amazing perks. It's been long enough, and any normal person would've let their guard down by now. After all, no one would ever turn down something free."

"Should I tally up the numbers and let you know?"

Freddy got up and headed to the floor-to-ceiling window. "No rush—you won't get things done that way. They aren't stupid. The more rushed you are, the more they'll get suspicious. Let's wait for now. When the timing's right, they'll walk right into our traps."

"You're always a step ahead, Mr. Artie. What should we do next?"

Freddy didn't turn around. "Just keep things running as usual. It'll just take a few more days. Our prey will be ready soon."

Edwin gave a slight bow. "Got it. I'll be on my way now."

With that, he took a few steps back and left the office.

Once the door closed, Freddy pulled out his phone and made a call. As the call went through, his entire demeanor changed, and he spoke first in a respectful tone. "Sir."

A low voice answered from the other end. "What is it?"

"I'm nearly done with what you've asked me to do. We're just waiting to close the net."

The person on the other end grunted in acknowledgement. "I'll tell you when it's time to reel them in. Your show must go on. Don't let anyone else sense that something's off."

Even over the phone, Freddy instinctively bowed. "Understood, sir."

The other person hung up without another word. Freddy exhaled and touched his back, only to find himself drenched in cold sweat.

Elsewhere, Wynter and the others had just finished eating. Just as they headed into the mall, Antoine called her.

As soon as the line connected, he spoke first. "Do you have a moment right now, Ms. Quinnell?"

"What's wrong?"

He continued, "I just remembered that Mr. Quinnell Senior gave me something to pass along to whoever's wearing the gold-eyed goldfish."

She glanced up. "Okay. I'll head over now."

Just then, Driscoll turned to Dalton. "M-Mr. Yarwood, may I invite you over to my home for a chat?"

Dalton gave him a look. "You'll have to ask my fiancee."

Wynter walked over. "It's fine. You can go with Mr. Maynerd. I'm heading to see Mr. Chamberlain, anyway, and I'll come pick you up later."

Driscoll nodded firmly. "Alright, then. I'll take Mr. Yarwood home with me for a talk."

With that, he pulled the car door open. With a light chuckle, Dalton strode over and headed in. He knew what Driscoll wanted to discuss, and he didn't mind helping someone with such patriotism.

Jules grabbed Wynter's hand. "I'm heading off now, Ms. Wynter! I'll play with you again tomorrow!"

Wynter stroked her cheek. "Sure. I'll take you out for some fun again when I'm free."

Jules nodded enthusiastically and got into the car.

After they left, only Wynter and Wolf were left at the mall's entrance. A car pulled up, and the chauffeur, Justus Farragher, rolled down the window. "I'm here on Mr. Humphry's behalf. Where would you like to go, miss?"

Wynter nodded in acknowledgement before getting in the car and giving Justus an address. He quickly started the vehicle and headed toward the Chamberlain residence. Thanks to his skills, the ride was smooth and steady. They reached their destination in no time.

As soon as the car stopped, Antoine was already at the door, waiting. "You're here, Ms. Quinnell."

Wynter nodded. "Yeah. What did Grandpa Gordon leave behind?"

Antoine shook his head. "I never read it. It's been kept here the whole time."

Wolf got out of the car and greeted him with a smile. "I'm here, too, Mr. Antoine."

Antoine smiled back. "Hello, Wolf."

With that, he stepped aside. "Come on in. We'll talk inside."

Wynter nodded and headed into the residence, with Wolf following behind her. Having been here plenty of times before, he knew the place like the back of his hand.

As soon as they stepped inside, Alanis spotted Wolf and greeted him. "Hey there, little one. It's been a while."

Wolf giggled. "My boss brought me with her. I don't have to stay behind now!"

Hearing that, Wynter looked away. "I never would've guessed. It seems like you made friends with everyone while I wasn't here."

Wolf pouted. "Well, of course! You say I'm cute, and everyone thinks that, too!"

Antoine glanced at Ingrid. "Why don't you keep Wolf company for a moment? I need to discuss something with Ms. Quinnell."

Ingrid turned around as soon as she heard his name. "Wolf! You're here!"

Wolf nodded firmly. "Mm-hmm!"
