The Heiress’ Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call (Wynter Quinnell) novel Chapter 1959

Velaris Luxe was a place Wynter had never visited before. From the entrance alone, she could already catch a glimpse of the interior.

The hotel lobby still retained the once-popular decoration style. It featured a massive marble pillar, intricate decorative artistry, and an indoor water feature that showcased a fusion of traditional and modern elements.

The hostess led Wynter and her group toward the banquet hall. After weaving through the corridors, they finally arrived at the entrance.

Once the doors were opened, they stepped inside, only to be immediately greeted by a voice laced with sarcasm. "Oh? Isn't this Mr. Chamberlain? What's someone your age doing at a party like this?"

Every word was dripping with disdain, clearly implying that someone like Antoine had no place being there.

Those nearby turned their heads at the commotion.

"She's right, though. By all standards, the Chamberlain family shouldn't even qualify for this kind of event. I wonder how they managed to get an invitation."

"They probably forged it. I mean, this banquet isn't something just anyone can waltz into."

"Maybe Mr. Boso gave him a pity invite, considering he's still technically a member of the Chamber of Commerce. It's probably meant to be a formality. Who knew he'd actually show up?"

Antoine looked like he wanted to speak up, but Wynter stopped him. Her eyes locked directly onto the woman who had first spoken. "Hey, you. The hostess verified our invitations. Are you making a scene for no reason?"

"'You?'" The woman raised an eyebrow and said disdainfully, "Do you not know how to speak respectfully? No wonder the Chamberlain family fell so far. You can't even keep your servants in line."

Wynter chuckled lightly. "Even if we've fallen, what does that have to do with you? Are you secretly trying to squeeze the Chamberlains out of the picture?"

"You! Watch your mouth. It's not my fault that Antoine is incompetent." The woman was clearly rattled by how accurate Wynter was.

"Oh? If that's true, why can't you meet my gaze?" Wynter stepped closer. "Those who rush to the front of the line often fall the fastest.

"And besides, you sure act like some royalty when you don't even look the part. You're old and yet so talkative. Isn't this place all about status and rank? How exactly did you get in?"

"You—" The woman was left speechless by Wynter's jabs. "Just you wait!"

Wynter smiled sweetly. "Don't take too long. Your makeup's already about to melt off your face."

The woman had indeed been sent by Charis to humiliate Antoine, but in the end, she only managed to humiliate herself.

Charis had caught wind of the commotion, too. He planned to pressure Antoine into voluntarily leaving the Chamber of Commerce in front of everyone, yet the people he'd just arranged to stir things up had just gotten themselves humiliated.

He narrowed his eyes, watching Wynter's back carefully. When she turned around, his brows suddenly furrowed and he muttered to himself, "It's you…"

He hadn't expected Wynter to show up at the banquet at all. Just recently, he had disguised himself as Ludovic to get close to her, but she'd seen right through it. He knew exactly why Wynter was here in Havenia—she was clearly after the Chamber of Commerce.

Turning to the two men beside him, he gave a cold order. "You two, go remove the two adults and that kid standing beside Antoine. Say that unrelated individuals aren't allowed in here."

"Alright, Mr. Boso," the two men responded, then made their way straight toward Antoine.

Meanwhile, Antoine looked at Wynter and sighed. "I shouldn't have come. Now, even you have to suffer this humiliation with me."

"This is nothing. I'm sure there will be more of these strays. This is only the beginning." Wynter winked playfully.

Antoine frowned slightly. "But today's guests are all Havenia's influential people. I'm guessing the only reason I even got an invitation was because of my chamber membership."

Just as he finished, the two men in black suits and earpieces arrived. "Mr. Chamberlain, please remove these uninvited individuals."
