The Heiress’ Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call (Wynter Quinnell) novel Chapter 2016

"Yeah, I know the owner. I went over once to check on Ms. Cherice when she was in the beauty club," the waiter replied.

Dalton stayed silent, glancing at Wynter.

Catching his gaze, Wynter turned to the waiter. "Could you please go get Ms. Cherice? Just tell her something has happened at the restaurant that needs her attention."

The waiter nodded. "Alright, I'll go get Ms. Cherice."

With that, he headed toward the beauty club's entrance.

Dalton looked at Wynter. "This is Havenia. There are some matters we shouldn't get directly involved in. On top of that, we can't be certain Lynette is the beauty club's owner."

Wynter gave a slight nod. "I got carried away just now. It's a good thing you stopped me."

By then, the waiter had reached the beauty club's entrance.

Just as he was about to knock, someone came to the door. "What is it?"

"I'm looking for Ms. Cherice. There's something that requires her attention," the waiter said from the doorway.

The person smiled. "Ms. Cherice is in the middle of a beauty treatment right now. It'll take about half an hour, and she can't be disturbed. You can handle it first if it's urgent. I'll let Ms. Cherice know afterward."

The waiter had no choice but to give up. "Alright, then. I'll head back for now."

He turned around and returned to the restaurant before looking at Wynter. "They said Ms. Cherice is in the middle of a treatment and won't be back for at least half an hour."

Wynter's gaze darkened slightly. "Why the sudden beauty treatment?"

The waiter shook his head. "I don't know, either. I'll get back to work now."

Wynter nodded, then looked at Dalton. "Something's off."

Dalton's voice was calm and steady. "It's fine. We'll just wait here until she comes back."

Wynter hummed in agreement. For now, that was the only option.

About half an hour later, Anabella was stirred awake by the sound of soft music in the beauty club. She opened her eyes and saw Adaline standing nearby, holding a mirror in her hand.

"Ms. Cherice, take a look. How do you like the result?" Adaline asked.

Anabella took the mirror and saw that the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes had completely disappeared. She was in awe that her skin had improved so much after just a nap.

Anabella's face lit up with joy. "Your skills are truly unparalleled. It's no wonder so many wealthy ladies come to you for treatments."

Adaline smiled lightly. "It's because I can make them look younger, and they won't feel defeated by the toll of time. What woman wouldn't want to be more beautiful?"

However, when Anabella tried to sit up, a strange fatigue swept over her. She felt utterly drained of strength.

Adaline quickly supported her. "That's just a side effect of the treatment. You'll feel weak for a while. You should know since you've experienced this before."

Anabella carefully set her feet on the floor. "I know. I also felt very tired after the first two times. I'll recover after some rest."

Adaline nodded gently. "By the way, someone from your restaurant came earlier and said there's something that requires your attention. Why don't I send you back first?"

"That'd be great. Thank you," Anabella replied. She leaned on Adaline for support as she slowly made her way downstairs.

As they walked, Adaline added, "I'll think about what you mentioned earlier about getting your friend a membership card, but this must stay between us. If word gets out, many people will come begging me for a membership."

Anabella nodded. "Don't worry. I'll keep it to myself."

Adaline turned to another woman. "Sheryl, help Ms. Cherice back."

Sheryl Kelcey nodded before helping Anabella out of the beauty club and straight toward the restaurant entrance.

Wynter spotted someone supporting Anabella as they returned. "She's back."

Dalton glanced over. "There's yet another change."

Wynter's gaze grew contemplative. "She had fine lines at the corners of her eyes when she left, but they miraculously disappeared half an hour later. It's practically a medical miracle."

"Help Ms. Cherice inside. She's weak and needs to rest now," Sheryl called to the waiter as she reached the restaurant door.

The waiter nodded, taking Anabella from her and helping her back into the restaurant. Sheryl then returned to the beauty club.

Wynter immediately walked toward Anabella. "I'll take Ms. Cherice upstairs to rest."

The waiter nodded. "Alright. I'll get back to work, then."

So, Wynter helped Anabella up the stairs.

After a while, they reached the second-floor lounge. "Ms. Cherice, the wrinkles on your face are completely gone…"

Anabella smiled. "I know. It's gone after a short nap. It's truly a miracle."

Wynter's eyes narrowed slightly. "But it's only a beauty treatment. Why do you become so weak afterward?"

Anabella leaned against a pillow. "I don't know, either. I felt like I had no strength, as if I'd been beaten up, when I woke up."

"Let me take a look at your pulse," Wynter said, looking at her.

Anabella's eyes widened. "You know how to take pulses? That's something only old traditional doctors do. I didn't expect you to know how to do it."

Wynter placed her fingers on Anabella's wrist. "I've only studied the basics. Just relax for now, Ms. Cherice."

Closing her eyes, she carefully felt the rhythm of Anabella's pulse. "Ms. Cherice, your body is extremely weak. You're as fragile as paper right now. A strong gust of wind could carry you away."

Anabella froze. "But the doctor said I was fine the last time I had a health checkup. How could this be?"

Wynter's tone was calm. "When was your last checkup? It must have been a while, right?"

Anabella nodded. "Before I started these treatments. Is something wrong with my health?"

"Your oxygen level and blood are depleted, causing your circulation to not work properly. Your skin looks fine and your face is smooth, but your body is already in serious trouble.

Anabella ignored her weakness and asked hurriedly, "Are you saying the beauty treatments caused my current condition?"

Wynter's voice was soft. "That's not what I mean. But from now on, you should really rest and stop doing these treatments."

Anabella nodded. "Alright, I'll listen to you."

Then, suddenly remembering something, she asked, "Then, do you still want the membership for the beauty treatments?"

Wynter looked up. "Me? Of course I do. I'd regret it for the rest of my life if my fiance got disgusted and left me. My body isn't the same as yours. Your oxygen and blood depletion may be due to your own health condition."

Wynter could tell that Anabella's condition was still fairly stable when she had gone upstairs to check on her earlier. However, both her face and physical state had changed after returning from the beauty treatment.
