The Hockey Roommate's Filthy Desire novel Chapter 111

Chapter 111

ARIA’S POV

A few days later, I was finally discharged from the hospital.

The doctors still looked nervous about letting me leave, but Brandon handled everything before I could ask questions. By the time I finished changing, he already had people carrying my things downstairs.

He treated me like I would collapse if I walked too fast.

Slow down,he said the moment I stepped out of the room.

I frowned weakly. I’m not dying anymore, Brandon.

That’s still debatable.

I almost laughed at that. Almost.

The baby slept quietly in my arms while Brandon stayed so close beside me that it was almost ridiculous. C nurse smiled while watching us leave.

Take care of your wife and child properly, she told him warmly. I immediately opened my mouth to corre her, but Brandon answered first.

I will.”

I looked at him in surprise, but he simply took the baby carrier from my hands carefully before leading me outside.

The ride to his house felt strangely quiet.

I kept staring out the window while trying to process everything that had changed in my life within just one month.

I almost died. I became a mother. And somehow, Brandon had become the person standing beside me through all of it.

When we finally arrived at his house, I hesitated slightly before stepping inside. The last time I came here. everything felt temporary.

Now it felt different.

This is your room,Brandon said after leading me upstairs.

I blinked. Your room?

Our room now,he corrected calmly. My chest tightened unexpectedly. Before I could answer, the baby started crying softly again. Brandon immediately reached for her without hesitation.

I’ve got her.”

I stared at him quietly while he carried her carefully against his chest. He moved naturally now like he had been doing this his entire life.

It still surprised me every time. After settling in properly, I tried resting for two days like the doctors instructed.

Then on the third day, I opened my laptop again.

Brandon walked into the room and immediately frowned. What are you doing?

Working.”

You just left the hospital.”

And

my

uncle almost killed me,I replied calmly. I’m not sitting around doing nothing anymore.

His jaw tightened slightly. Aria-

I’m serious.

I pulled some documents closer and continued reading through them carefully. That company belongs to my father,” I said quietly. And I’m taking it back.

Brandon stayed silent for a moment before walking closer. You should focus on recovering first.

I can recover while working.

You’re stubborn.

I looked up at him. You already knew that.

A quiet sigh escaped him before he rubbed his forehead tiredly. You almost died.

And I survived. My voice softened slightly after that. Which means I’m not wasting my second chance.

He stared at me carefully for a long moment before finally giving up. Fine,he muttered. But don’t overwork yourself.

I won’t.

That turned into our daily routine after that. I handled documents from home while Brandon practically hovered around me every second of the day.

If I stood up too quickly, he noticed. If I carried something slightly heavy, he took it away immediately. If the baby cried at night, he got there before I even sat up properly.

You don’t have to do everything yourself,I told him one evening while he prepared another bottle.

He glanced at me briefly. I know.

Then why are you acting like this?

Because I want to.I stayed quiet after that because honestly, I did not know how to respond anymore He treated my daughter like she was completely his.

And somehow, that affected me more than it should have. One afternoon, we sat together in the living roo while the baby slept peacefully between us.

We still haven’t picked a name,I murmured quietly.

Brandon looked down at her thoughtfully. I was waiting for you to decide.

I smiled faintly. That’s unfair.

You’re her mother.

And you’ve been acting like her father since she was born.

Silence fell briefly after that.

Then Brandon looked back at the baby again. What about Amelia?

I repeated it softly in my head. Amelia.

It suits her,” he said quietly.

I looked down at my daughter again and smiled for the first time that day. Yeah,I whispered. It does.

From that moment onward, she became Amelia.

And strangely, hearing Brandon call her by name made something warm spread quietly inside my chest

Weeks passed slowly after that. Despite everything that happened, the house no longer felt cold the way I expected.
