The Hockey Roommate's Filthy Desire novel Chapter 148

Chapter 148

JULIAN’S POV

The moment the courier guy handed me those restraining order papers, I felt like the entire world was crashing down around me.

After Aria vanished into thin air with Amelia and completely cut off all contact, I almost went completely crazy. The cold reality of those legal documents hit me like a physical blow.

She had actually served me a restraining order. She thought she could just take our daughter, hide away in some dark corner, and leave me behind?

But I gripped those papers until my knuckles turned white, a dangerous fire burning in my chest. That wouldn’t be possible at all. I wasn’t going to let a piece of paper stand between me and my family.

First, however, I had to handle my responsibilities and return to our home city. I had a massive, highstakes tournament coming up rapidly, and I had promised my team, my coach, and myself to finally get serious about my ice hockey career again.

The rink was my domain, and I needed that victory. Besides, I knew inside my heart that it was only a matter of time before I tracked Aria down. She couldn’t hide from me forever.

The very second I stepped through the front door of my house, the heavy silence was shattered. Leonie was standing right there in the middle of my living room, her face red and her eyes wild with a mixture of shock and fury.

She had clearly seen the breaking news broadcast from the locker room.

What the hell did you mean on national television, Julian?she screamed, marching right up to me and shoving her hands against my chest. A child? Who had a child for you? Answer me!

I looked down at her with total indifference, pulling her hands off my jacket. It was Aria,I said, my voice dead and completely calm.

Aria gave birth to my daughter five years ago. And I am going to get back my woman and my daughter, whether you like it

or not.

Leonie dropped to her knees, breaking down into hysterical, ugly tears. The raw frustration pouring off her was suffocating.

After being by my side, clinging to me for five whole years, the devastating realization finally hit her. Aria still held every single string to my heart.

No matter how hard she tried to replace her, she was nothing but a shadow. Why are you doing this to me?Leonie wailed, looking up at me through her blurred vision.

Why are you running right back to Aria after everything? Is it just because of the kid? Julian, listen to me, I can bear you a child. I can give you children, as many as you want. Just please don’t leave me for her.

I stared at her, feeling absolutely nothing but a deep sense of disgust. That is completely impossible, Leonie,I told her, my voice turning icecold.

The few times I ever touched you in the past were a massive, pathetic mistake, and it will never happen again.

Leonie let out a loud, heartbroken wail like a wounded child, but I didn’t give her another single second of my time or a response.

I turned on my heel, grabbed my hockey gear and a few of my essential belongings, and walked straight out of the house, leaving her alone. I was done with that chapter of my life.

Chapter 148

Puduchers

My mind was racing, and my chest felt tight with pentup aggression. I pulled out my phone and dialed Blake, telling him to meet me at our usual highend bar immediately.

The moment I walked into the dimly lit VIP section of the bar and saw Blake sitting at the counter, my first instinct was to hit something. I marched straight up to him, before he could even utter a word of greeting, and punched him squarely in the jaw.

The force of the blow knocked him back against the stool. Blake gripped his face, his eyes wide with utter confusion and shock. What the hell, Julian.he yelled, wiping a tiny speck of blood from his lip. Why did you do that?

You knew all along, didn’t you?I snarled, stepping into his space, my chest heaving. You knew that Brandon, your illegitimate older brother, was the exact person trying to steal Aria away from me this entire time, and you didn’t tell me?

Blake groaned, shaking his head as he tried to clear the daze from the punch. Julian, listen to me, I swear I didn’t know from the onset,he explained desperately, raising his hands in defense.

I only found out the truth when she was in that coma. I actually thought it was Brandon who was lying in that hospital bed at first, because he published false news and manipulated the media to deceive the crowd. By the time I realized it was actually Aria who was hurt, I didn’t know how to face you or tell you.

He let out a heavy sigh, looking down at his drink. You were so mad at Aria back then. You didn’t want to hear her name, and you refused to listen to anything about her.”

Hearing his words made me feel like the biggest fool on earth. Stupidity washed over me. The truth was, I hadn’t truly been mad at Aria five years ago; my massive ego had just been badly bruised.

If I had genuinely hated her, why on earth did I secretly send money to her bank account every single month while she was away? I felt like a complete, utter fool who had let his pride ruin his own happiness.

I’m sorry, Julian,” Blake muttered, his voice full of genuine regret. I didn’t even see Aria or speak to her back then. I was too deeply ashamed to look her in the eyes after I tried to claim her late father’s legacy just to please my own wicked father.

I went completely quiet, the anger leaving me as a hollow ache took its place. I grabbed the bottle of vodka from the bartender and kept pouring shot after shot, throwing the burning liquid down my throat.
