ARIA’S POV

“We never actually got to be together back then because of my mistakes, and the truth is, I still haven’t gotten over you. Not even a little bit. Every single night, Aria, go crazy lying in my bed wondering what your curves look like. Just give me one night, and I will give you any amount of cash you want. I’ll sign the contract papers right now.”

I felt incredibly sick to my stomach, listening to his vile words. I looked at his face and felt nothing but pure disgust. “You are a sick, twisted bastard.” I said, keeping my voice low, sharp, and steady.

Luca laughed, not caring about my words at all. He shrugged his shoulders and adjusted his jacket collar. “Call me whatever names you want, sweetheart. But business is business. You need my money, or your father’s company falls apart. It’s a very simple trade. Your body for your legacy.”

“I don’t need a single cent from a monster like you,” I replied. A cold, victorious smile suddenly broke across my face.

Before he could ask what I was smiling at, I reached into my jacket pocket and pulled out my smartphone. I turned the brigh: screen around and held it right up to his face.

The screen showed a voice recording app. The red timer was moving, catching every single word of his disgusting offer, his blackmail, and his demands.

Luca’s arrogant smile instantly vanished. His face went completely white, and his eyes went wide with total shock and fear. “What the hell are you doing, Aria? Turn that off right now!”

“I shocked you, didn’t I?” I said, stepping even closer to him and holding the phone up like a weapon.

“Let me make one thing crystal clear to you, Luca. If you ever cross my path again, if you ever try to contact me, or if you even look at my company, I will bring you down completely. I will send this exact voice recording to every single news channel, blog, and corporate board in this city. I will let the whole world know exactly what kind of person you truly are.”

Luca lunged forward, reaching out his large hand to grab the phone from me, but I pulled it back quickly, stepping out of his reach. I stared at him with fire in my eyes, showing him I wasn’t afraid.

“And don’t think this is over,” I added, backing toward the exit doors. “My lawyers will be contacting you very soon for this harassment. Enjoy your empty room, Luca.”

I turned around, slammed the heavy penthouse doors open, and walked straight to the elevators, my heart pounding from the adrenaline.

But by the time I drove into the company headquarters, my anger had turned into a heavy, crushing worry. The investment was gone. Luca had made up the whole lifeline just to get to me, which meant Fred still had the power to ruin the company

We had no backup plan and no cash.

As I walked out of the elevator into the reception area, I stopped in my tracks. I was surprised to see David standing by my secretary’s desk. He looked up, noticing how stressed, flushed, and upset I looked.

“Miss Aria,” David said, walking over to me immediately with a calm, worried face. “You look completely shaken. Is everything okay? Chloe told me you left for an urgent meeting about the investment money.”

I let out a long, tired sigh, shaking my head as we walked toward my office. “The investment was a total lie, David. The owner

of that company is a horrible person from my past who tried to blackmail me for personal favors. The deal is completely off. We are right back at the start with Fred’s shares, and we have no investor.”

David didn’t look worried at all. In fact, a confident, gentle smile appeared on his face. He followed me into my quiet office, closed the door, and pulled some official papers from his leather folder. He set them down gently on my desk.

“Actually, Miss Aria… you have absolutely nothing to worry about anymore,” David said softly.

I blinked, looking from the official-looking papers up to his face. “What do you mean? What is this?”

“While you were out dealing with that meeting, handled the situation myself,” David explained calmly, his tone completely relaxed.

“I bought all of Fred’s shares directly from his private brokers. Every single one of them. They are officially secured, paid for, and back in your hands. Fred has no power left, his lawsuit is over because he has no standing, and the company’s money is perfectly safe.”

A massive wave of relief washed over me so fast I felt my knees go weak. I sank down heavily into my office chair, staring at the transfer papers that held the official seals.

“Oh my god… David, I don’t even know what to say to you. You completely saved us. Thank you so much.”

But as the relief settled, a big, confusing question popped into my mind. I looked up at the young board member, my eyebrows furrowing.
