Chapter 185

JULIAN’S POV

I had just finished my afternoon training practice and was heading out of the facility when my phone started vibrating i gym bag. I pulled it out and saw Blake’s name flashing on the screen.

I took a deep breath, running a hand through my sweaty hair had actually stopped drinking for days now. I was completely avoiding the alcohol, hoping with everything I had to finally clear my mind and get my sanity back

I wanted to be a man who could actually fix his mistakes.

I slid the screen to answer the call and brought the phone to my ear. Before I could even say hello, Blake’s voice boor through the speaker, full of disbelief. “Have you gone completely insane, Julian?”

I stopped dead in my tracks in the middle of the hallway, frowning deeply. “What the hell are you talking about, Blake? “At this point, I don’t even know what your game is anymore!” Blake snapped, his voice tight with anger. “Do you actually want to win Aria back, or is your goal to drive her away from you completely? How could you try to take Amelia away fro her?!”

I stood there, completely confused. My mind went blank for a second as I tried to process his words. “What the fuck are you talking about? I’ve been at practice since this morning. I haven’t done anything.”

And then, a sudden, ice-cold dread washed over my entire body. My stomach dropped, and my heart began to hammer against my ribs. “Blake, is Amelia okay? Did something happen to her?”

Blake paused on the other end, his tone shifting slightly when he realized my shock. “So you really didn’t do it? You didn’t know?”

“I don’t know anything about what you’re talking about!” I yelled, my voice echoing down the empty corridor. My grip on the phone tightened until my knuckles turned white. “Is my daughter safe, Blake? Tell me right now!”

“Yes, she’s safe,” Blake said, taking a heavy breath. “But my father just called me. He told me he had a long conversation with your father today. The older Mr. Vance openly bragged to my dad that your family is officially taking Aria to court. They are filing for the full legal custody of Amelia.”

The world felt like it was spinning out of control. I felt completely breathless. “No… no, I didn’t allow my father to do that at all,” I stammered, my voice shaking with a mix of fear and rising fury. “I explicitly told him to stay out of it!”

Blake went completely silent for a few agonizing seconds. When he spoke again, his voice was low and serious. “Julian, your father told my dad that you were the one who agreed to this. He said you were completely on board with the lawsuit. “I never agreed to anything!” I roared, pure rage exploding in my chest. “I would never do that to her! I will handle this, Blake. Before Blake could say another single word, I slammed my finger on the screen, ended the call, and practically sprinted out of the building toward the parking lot.

I threw myself into the driver’s seat of my car, started the engine, and slammed my foot hard on the gas pedal, the tires screeching loudly against the pavement.

My mind was a chaotic mess of panic and anger. Aria would be so incredibly furious at was the one behind this whole nightmare.

me right now. She would think I

She would think I was using my family’s wealth and power just to spite her, hurt her, and punish her for walking away from me. After everything I had done to try and show her I was changing, this would completely destroy any tiny shred of trust she had left in me.

I hated my father more than anything else at that exact moment. He was going to ruin my life completely.

I drove like a maniac through the city traffic, ignoring the speed limits until I finally pulled up outside my father’s massive corporate headquarters.

I didn’t even park the car properly before throwing the door open. I stormed through the main lobby, ignoring the security guards and the receptionist who called out my name in surprise.

I marched straight toward the executive elevator, went up to the top floor, and walked fast down the long hallway toward the main boardroom. I didn’t knock. I didn’t hesitate.

I just gripped the handles and forcefully barged straight into the room. The heavy doors slammed with a loud bang.

Open against the walls

My father was sitting at the head of the large glass table, right in the middle of an important meeting with his top board members and international investors.

Everyone in the room jumped in shock, their heads turning toward me instantly. But I didn’t give a single fuck about his company, his billions, or his precious reputation

I marched right up to the front of the room, my eyes locked onto my father’s calm face, and I slammed both hands onto the table. “Didn’t I fucking tell you to stop making decisions about my life?! I screamed, the veins in my neck bulging with pure rage.

The entire boardroom went completely dead silent

He looked at the shocked faces around the table, adjusted his expensive tie, and cleared his throat.

“The meeting is adjourned,” my father said, his voice smooth, quiet, and completely authoritative.

“Everyone, please clear the room. My son and I have private family matters to discuss.” The board members didn’t wait single second. They scrambled to grab their documents, pushing their chairs back hastily and rushing out of the double doors like their lives depended on it.

Within a minute, the heavy doors clicked shut behind them, leaving just the two of us in the massive, quiet room.

My father slowly stood up from his leather chair, crossing his arms over his chest. He looked down his nose at me, completely unimpressed by my anger.

“How dare you act like a wild animal in my building, Julian?” he said coldly. “You come in here screaming about your life, but the truth is, you don’t even have a handle on it. I decided to step in because you are weak.”

“I am not weak!” I shouted back, stepping closer to him, my fists clenched at my sides. “I told you to leave Aria and Amelia alone! I told you I was going to handle my family my own way!”

“Your own way?!” my father scoffed loudly, a bitter, mocking smile appearing on his lips. “And look where your way got you! You let that girl run away to a foreign country with our bloodline for five years. You spent months begging, drinking yourself into a stupor, and whining like a teenager while a Vance grandchild is out there living away from her rightful family! You were too soft to do what needed to be done. Since you were too weak to claim what belongs to us, I decided to do things my way. And that is exactly how things will go from now on.”
