Chapter 77
ARIA’S POV
I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know what to say.
I didn’t know how to breathe.

I just stood there frozen in the doorway of the bathroom, staring at Julian while water streamed down his body, dripping from his skin and soaking into the marble floor beneath him.
His eyes remained locked on mine, dark and emotionless, and the hatred inside them made my chest ache so badly I thought I might collapse.
Neither of us moved. Not for several long, unbearable seconds. Then somehow, without even thinking, I found my feet carrying me toward him.
Slowly. Carefully.
My breathing trembled with every step until I stood right in front of him beneath the warm mist of the shower. My hand lifted shakily toward his chest, desperate for something familiar. Desperate for comfort.
But before I could touch him, Julian stepped back.
Then he reached behind him and shut the shower off. The sudden silence was deafening.
I froze. His gaze never left mine. He was calm. Too calm. And somehow that scared me more than if he had screamed. My lips trembled. “Julian…”
He said nothing. Tears burned my eyes immediately. “I didn’t do it,” I whispered. “Please believe me.”
He didn’t answer, he just stared at me. My voice broke. “Those videos, those pictures aren’t real. They’re fake. They have to be. Serena did this. She’s the one behind it, I know she is…”
Julian laughed. A cold, bitter laugh that made my stomach drop. I froze. He shook his head slowly, looking almost amused. “You still think I’m stupid enough to believe your lies?”
My breath caught painfully. “They’re not lies!”
His eyes darkened. “Really?”
“Yes!” I cried. “Julian, I swear to you, I have never seen Professor Hensley outside of school or his office. Ever. Every meeting we had was academic. Professional. Nothing else!”
He laughed again, harder this time. And the sound shattered me. “You expect me to believe that?” he asked darkly. “After everything?”
My breathing turned frantic. “Because it’s the truth!”
His jaw clenched tightly. “Stop.” His voice dropped dangerously low. “Stop before I lose what little control I

have left.
I flinched.
He stepped closer slowly, his wet body towering over mine, his eyes burning with restrained rage. “I am trying very hard not to hurt you right now,” he said through gritted teeth. “So do yourself a favor and leave before things get worse.”
My lips parted in shock. “No…” I whispered.
“Leave.”
“No!” My voice cracked as tears spilled freely. “You have to believe me!”
Desperate, I dropped to my knees. My hands reached for his leg instinctively, trying to hold onto him. But he stepped away. And I lost my balance.
My knees slammed hard against the bathroom floor.
A cry escaped me as pain shot through my body, but it didn’t compare to the agony in my chest. Tears streamed endlessly down my face as I looked up at him from the floor.
Julian stared down at me like I disgusted him. Then he laughed again. Softly. Broken. “I was such a fool,” he murmured. “A fucking idiot.”
My heart shattered. He shook his head bitterly. “I really thought maybe love was real for a second.”
“Julian…”
“But it’s not,” he snapped, cutting me off. “It doesn’t exist.” My sobs grew louder.
He pointed toward the door. “Get out.” I stared at him helplessly. “Get out,” he repeated coldly. “And never show your face in front of me again.”
My chest physically hurt now. “No…” I cried. “Please no…”
He turned away from me. “Julian, someone is trying to ruin me!” I screamed through tears. “Please! You have to believe me! I need your help getting it off the internet…”
But he ignored me completely. He walked out of the bathroom. And I scrambled after him. “Julian, please!” I sobbed, chasing him into the suite. “Please don’t do this…”
He spun around sharply. “Why should I help you?”
I froze. His eyes burned into mine. “Give me one reason. One good fucking reason why I should help you after humiliating me like this.”
My lips trembled violently. Then the words slipped out before I could stop them. “Because I’m carrying your child.”
Silence. Everything stopped. Julian froze. His entire body went rigid. His eyes dropped slowly to my stomach.

And for one horrible, fleeting second, hope bloomed inside my chest.

But then he laughed. My blood ran cold. When his eyes met mine again, whatever softness had briefly flickered there was gone. “You’re unbelievable,” he muttered.
My stomach dropped. “Julian…”
He shook his head slowly. “You actually expect me to believe that child is mine?”
My face was drained of colour. “It is yours!” I cried immediately. “I swear it is!” He scoffed. “No,” I sobbed, moving closer. “Please listen to me…”
“Take it to Professor Hensley,” he said coldly. The words hit me like a slap.
“What?”
He stared at me with disgust. “That child isn’t mine.”
My heart stopped. “No…” I whispered.
He stepped closer. “Did you really think you could trap me with another man’s bastard?”
Tears poured harder down my face. “It’s not another man’s baby!”
