The Human Among Wolves (Aurora) novel Chapter 363

Chapter 363

The bidding climbed again.

Two-sixty.

Two-eighty.

Three hundred million.

The world tilted for a second.

Three hundred million dollars.

For me.

For my blood, my power, my mother’s lineage, my father’s curse.

Sergei Morozov still hadn’t moved.

Finally, he lifted his hand again – slow, confident, unbothered.

“Three-fifty.”

A collective inhale swept through the room.

Three hundred and fifty million.

The other bidders lowered their eyes, one by one, the surrender almost ritualistic. None of them challenged him. Not a single

one.

The auctioneer spread his arms wide, basking in the moment.

“Three hundred fifty million! Going once-!”

Silence.

“Twice-!”

Silence, heavier this time. Final.

The gavel rose.

“Sold!”

He slammed it down, the sound echoing through the hall like a sentence.

“Alpha Sergei Morozov is the proud new owner of Aurenya Wells!”

The crowd applauded again-polite, satisfied, congratulatory-as if a trophy had just been awarded.

But the only thing I could hear was the pounding of my heart.

Sergei Morozov didn’t smile.

Didn’t clap.

Didn’t blink.

He simply watched me.

The applause was still fading when the auctioneer turned slightly, raising his hand in a subtle gesture.

Two men stepped forward immediately.

Not masked like the handlers.

Not dressed in uniforms.

These men wore black suits-crisp, tailored, efficient, like they belonged to someone powerful, someone who didn’t need to

hide the kind of business they conducted. Their expressions were empty, emotionless, trained into stillness.

Predators didn’t need theatrics.

They closed in from either side of the stage, moving in perfect sync.

My stomach dropped.

Every instinct inside me screamed run, but there was nowhere to go. The stage was too high to jump from without breaking

something, and even if I tried to leap, the crowd below was filled with wolves, vampires, fae-all faster than me in this state.

Still… I took a half-step back.

The smallest rebellion.

The smallest gasp of freedom.

It didn’t matter.

Both men reached the platform at the same time, climbing the last step with practiced ease. Their presence felt wrong-too

controlled, too precise. Professionals in the worst sense of the word.

One reached for my arm.

I jerked away on instinct, breath catching in my throat.

His grip clamped down anyway, fingers cold and unyielding on my skin, forcing my arm into place like he’d done this a

thousand times.

“Please don’t,” I whispered before I could stop myself.

He ignored it.

The second guard stepped behind me, his shadow swallowing mine, the heat of his body felt even through the cold air of the

hall. His hand wrapped around my other arm, not hurting-but asserting ownership.

I wasn’t a person to them.

I was a purchase.

A product that needed to be delivered.

My pulse hammered in my ears as they turned me slightly, aligning my body the way they wanted, preparing to lead me off

the stage.

The auctioneer was still smiling, still pleased with himself.

“Gentlemen, escort her to the private transfer hall,” he instructed, already turning toward the next set of files in his hands, as

though I’d already ceased to exist.

The guards tugged gently, guiding me toward the edge of the platform.

But something made me look back.

I didn’t want to.

Chapter 363

I didn’t mean to.

My head turned on its own.

Straight toward him.

Alpha Sergei Morozov.

He sat in the center section now, hands clasped loosely in front of him, elbows resting on his knees as he leaned forward. Studying me. Not hungrily.

But like someone evaluating the quality of a weapon.

His cold blue eyes locked onto mine.

And the intensity of it made it hard to breathe.

He didn’t look triumphant.

He didn’t look thrilled.

He looked… certain.

As if the outcome had never been in question.
