I don’t hesitate. I don’t think twice.

I push everything else out of my mind and focus on catching up to her.

Nadia runs pretty fast, and when she realizes that I’m gaining on her, she shifts.

Shifting for me right now would bring about complications that can’t deal with, so I stay in human form and run through the forest. She gets confused and slows down so she doesn’t hit the trees. Nadia never had the training I had, so this comes as no surprise to me.

I’m not angry that she’s here. I’m relieved.

I’ll use her to prove to Aria that I wasn’t lying about anything. I’ll take Nadia right up to her house and make her confess what she did that night.

I’m curious to know what Aria saw, too, so it’ll be advantageous to us both.

paws get stuck on overgrown roots and she howls loudly and twists her body around to free herself. Before she can manage, I’m upon her. I wrap both arms around her middle and she thrashes around while snapping her jaw. She wants to bite me.

“Shift back or I’ll shatter your ribs,” I warn her. “Don’t think I fucking won’t!”

Desperate yelps escape her, but nobody will hear her out here, and I don’t care who gets involved. Nadia won’t escape me

this time around.

She fucked up my life, and now, she’s going to fix it.

She shifts back, but I still don’t let go of her. Naked in my arms, she starts sobbing. “Let go

“I’m the sicko?” I ask before forcing her to her feet. “You’re the one who can’t seem to leave me the fuck alone, Nadia!”

She fights me the entire time, calling me all sorts of names. I’m unbothered. Right now, my priority is Aria and figuring out whether or not she’ll buy this. Fuck, I hope she will. I’m losing my damn mind here. This distance between us…the hatred I see in her eyes every time she looks at me…it needs to stop.

And now, I have to deal with Ray Laws.

Thinking about him makes me so fucking mad that my grip around Nadia tightens and she cries out. “You dick! You’re hurting me!”

“Be quiet.”

I carry her across the street. Thankfully, we don’t come across anyone, or it would probably look weird to an outsider, me carrying her naked while she’s kicking and screaming.

I manage to unlock my car and throw her inside. As I make my way around the car, I catch myself wondering what I’ll do to that guy. I’m not thinking straight anymore. Then again, he’s the one who asked for this.

Getting close to Aria to piss me off? It was a low blow. If he wanted my attention, now he fucking has it.

Nadia tries to escape when I open my door. I fist her hair and she cries out. “Don’t make me do something I’ll regret, Nadia!

She hugs her knees and glares at me. I glare right back as I start the car. “We’re gonna go to Aria’s place and you’re going to tell her exactly what you did that night or by the goddess, I’lkstrangle you. I’ll destroy you, Nadia. I’m not kidding. You mean less than shit to me, so don’t think for a second that I care about your life, or about being a gentleman. What did you do?”

Thankfully, the drive isn’t that long or my anxiety would eat me alive. Aria doesn’t live all that far away from campus. Nadia doesn’t answer me. I glare at her.

“Nadia.”

“You made sweet love to me, Ryder,” she answers bitterly. “That’s what your little Omega whore saw, alright? I couldn’t force you to fuck me! You did it because you wanted to!”

“What do you mean, she saw us? How?”

“You don’t remember?”

I step on the brakes and she cries out. “Okay, okay!”

“It was a setup, wasn’t it? Who was involved? What did you fucking do, Nadia?”

“Your drink was spiked, and we dragged you upstairs.

“We? Who the fuck is ‘we’?”

“Once you were on the bed, I took your clothes off, and then it was a matter of…waiting for her.” She narrows her eyes at me and smirks. “You were pretty hard, though. You kept calling my name. For a moment, everything was so perfect.”

“I couldn’t have called your name because I wasn’t conscious, you stupid bitch,” I spit. I can’t begin to imagine how Aria must’ve taken that. “How did she know to go to the room? Answer me!”

Nadia yells, “How the hell am I supposed to know?”

It starts raining, and I take a deep breath. It’s no matter. Once we get there, she’ll explain this story properly. I step on the gas again, and the tires screech when I park in front of her uncle’s place. I’m hoping and praying that she’ll be home.

We have to fix this. Today.

“Where’re you going?”

“Just keep your trap shut, Nadia!” I bark before slamming the door and locking the car. There’s a car parked right in front of mine, but I don’t pay much attention to it. My focus is on the door, and-

Screams. I hear screams, and they’re coming from inside the house.

They’re Aria’s.

“Aria?” I say loudly as panic washes over me. I race toward the door and push it open, not caring to knock or any shit like that.

The scene before my eyes fills me with the kind of hatred that burns everything in its path and leaves no space for any other emotion inside of me. Ray Laws turns his head to look at me, and the fucker-the motherfucker-has the audacity to look surprised.

Aria is beneath him, her top torn open, her breasts nearly spilling out of her bra. I take in the scene before me in record time. The tears on her cheeks. The scratches on his cheek. His unbuckled-

I lunge, my instincts taking over. I close my hands around his throat and squeeze. I’ll only stop when he’s dead.

Behind me, Aria screams my name and it disorients me, but not enough to let go of Ray. All his hits don’t register at all. I feel no pain, just anger.

“Ryder!”

She touches me and I falter, and that’s enough for the fucker to slip from my grip and race toward the door. I take a step in his direction, seeing red, my wolf needing the taste of his blood on my tongue, but Aria grabs me, fisting my shirt in her hand, and I turn to look at her.

“Please!” she half yells, half sobs. “Don’t. Please.”

I put my arms around her, a tiny wave of relief washing over me I hear his car starting outside, and then he speeds away.

Fuck. Fuck.

It takes everything, everything I am, to stay put with my arms around her. She sobs, and all I can see in my mind is that fucker on top of her.

“Are you hurt?” I ask, nearly choking on the words. I hold her we face in my hands. “Answer me, baby. Are you hurt?”

She shakes her head, but this is no consolation to me. She sinks to the ground and I hold her. I hold her instead of chasing

him.

The love of my life needs me right now. The rest of the fucking world can wait..
