The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 190

From the moment they met, it seemed she had been mired in one problem after another, constantly lurching from one crisis to the next. And almost every single time, it was Joseph who had come to her rescue.

This time, he had shielded her with his own body, and now, he was being denied even the chance for justice. He was a renowned lawyer, yet he was being forced to swallow this indignity to solve her problems. His peers would surely laugh at him if they ever found out.

Vivica stood in silence, consumed by self-reproach.

Dylan, however, had made up his mind. "Fine! We'll drop our claim on the house. You get my son out."

"I'm not the one who arrested your son," Joseph clarified. "What I can do is provide a letter of reconciliation, which will allow him to be released on bail. As long as I don't file a lawsuit, he'll avoid prison time."

Dylan was still wary. "I don't believe you. I'm not leaving until my son is released today!"

"That's outrageous—" Vivica started to argue, but Joseph raised a hand to stop her.

"Fine," he said, his voice firm. "I guarantee your son will be out today."

True to his word, Joseph immediately took out his phone and made a call to the authorities.

Just then, the police officers Vivica had called arrived. Seeing that the situation was under control, Roderic spoke with them briefly, and they departed.

With the conflict resolved, the movers resumed their work, carrying the larger pieces of furniture down to the truck. Fannie led the real estate agents into the apartment to begin their assessment for the sale.

Seeing that Dylan had been defeated, Riley knew her fight was lost. She dejectedly picked up her daughter and walked out. "You said you were going to get the house back," she grumbled at Loretta while they waited for the elevator. "You're completely useless."

At the same moment, Roderic sprang forward to support him from the other side.

Joseph's face was pale, a thin sheen of cold sweat on his forehead.

Vivica's heart leaped into her throat. "What's wrong? Is it the pain? We need to get you to a hospital right now."

Fannie quickly stepped in. "Ms. Lynn, you should take Mr. Baird to the hospital. I can handle everything here."

"Okay, thank you so much," Vivica said, nodding gratefully. She turned back to Joseph, her voice filled with concern. "Can you walk?"

Joseph hadn't fainted, just felt a wave of dizziness. Seeing the worry etched on her face, his mischievous side surfaced. "If I can't walk, are you going to carry me?"
