The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 330

Vivica had met his secretary, Fannie, a few times. She was a sharp, capable woman, clearly a powerhouse in her field. She never imagined Fannie’s duties included managing her boss's wardrobe.

“Fannie is beautiful and competent,” Vivica asked, her curiosity piqued. “Working so closely together, did you never feel even a little bit of admiration for her?”

Joseph knew exactly what she was implying. He shot her a sideways glance, a knowing smile playing on his lips. “Does something have to happen between a boss and his female secretary?”

“That’s not what I meant. I just… if you’re immune to women, why did you…”

Vivica had intended to say, “why did you take a special interest in me?”

But the words felt too conceited as they reached her lips, so she stopped herself. After all, if it hadn't been for Chaim, he probably wouldn't have given her a second glance. She vividly remembered her first visit to his law firm, seeking his help with her lawsuit. He had refused without a moment’s hesitation.

Seeing her trail off, Joseph prompted, “Why what?”

“Nothing,” Vivica quickly changed the subject, bending down to gather the empty boxes and bags. “It’s getting late. You should go take your shower.”

Joseph watched her tidy up for a moment before a thought struck him. He turned and walked away.

Vivica assumed he was headed for the bathroom and didn’t pay him any mind, continuing to clean up.

But he returned a moment later, a bank card pinched between his fingers.

“Here, take this,” he said, holding it out to her.

“It’s a man’s duty to provide for his family. It’s only natural that I cover those costs. I know you have your own money, but that’s your pre-marital asset. Now that we’re getting married, we’ll use my money.”

With that, Joseph took her hand and pressed the bank card into her palm.

Vivica frowned, so moved she was at a loss for words. “We’re… not married yet.”

“Aren’t we getting married next week?” he said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. He glanced at the card. “Consider it the wedding gift.”

Vivica was deeply touched beyond words. Just when she felt life had been exceptionally cruel to her, it would turn around and show her immense kindness. The unconditional support and affection from Joseph and the Baird family surpassed what countless biological parents could offer.

“The PIN is your birthday. From now on, all expenses—for you, for Chaim, for this household—will come from this account. If you need cash, you can withdraw it from the bank. It’s all yours to manage.”
