Seeing she had the boy hooked, Evelyn quickly began to pack his things and change his clothes.

Soon, the couple was out of the room, Chaim in his grandmother’s arms, heading straight for the elevator.

But just as they got there, they ran right into his doctor.

“Hey, where are you taking the child?” the doctor called out, turning back after having already passed them.

Zebulon shot back, “None of your business! He’s our grandchild, we’ll take him wherever we want.”

Their hostile attitude and hurried pace made the doctor suspicious. He quickly caught up and blocked their path.

“The child is in the middle of treatment. He can’t just be discharged. If something happens, who will be responsible?”

“Then we’ll transfer him to another hospital!” Zebulon declared.

“A transfer requires proper procedure. You can’t just walk out with him like this,” the doctor insisted, standing his ground.

Zebulon’s temper flared. He shoved the doctor aside. “Stop meddling!”

The commotion made Chaim realize something was wrong. He began to struggle in Evelyn’s arms.

“Put me down! I don’t want to go play anymore…” he protested.

Evelyn held him tighter, trying to soothe him with a strained smile. “Sweetie, we’re going to the amusement park, and we’ll see Mommy for lunch. Don’t you want to go to the amusement park?”

“No… put me down!” The little boy started to cry.

Seeing this, Zebulon grew even more frantic. “Let’s go! Just ignore him!”

They tried to push forward, ignoring the child’s loud sobs.

“Stop right there!” The doctor, now certain something was very wrong, grabbed Zebulon’s arm and called for help.

“Who’s the one with no decency? This hospital is full of crooks, robbing people blind! We don’t want your treatment anymore, is that a problem?”

The pushing and shoving escalated, and the scene descended into chaos. The medical staff, trying to protect the child while avoiding a public relations nightmare, could only try to block and persuade them. But Zebulon didn’t care, shoving anyone who got in his way.

“Quick, call Ms. Lynn! Get her over here now!” shouted the doctor who was still gripping Zebulon’s arm.

“I’ll do it!” one of the nurses exclaimed, breaking free to make the call.

Her heart sank with a terrible premonition. She was just about to call back when her phone rang. It was a local landline number. She answered immediately. “Hello?”

“Ms. Lynn, you need to get to the hospital right away! Your parents are here. They’re trying to forcibly take your son, and they’ve assaulted the staff!”
