The King Of War Returns (Jaden Rift) novel Chapter 48

Jaden gritted his teeth, the wind slicing across his face as Drax swerved through traffic like a man possessed. The engine of their matte black charger roared, its tires screeching against the asphalt as it tore down the highway.

"Do you know the place?" Jaden asked, eyes locked ahead like a hawk tracking its prey.

"Yes, Boss. Devil Club. Just a few blocks more." Drax’s fingers tightened around the wheel. "We’ll be there in ten."

"I can’t wait that long," Jaden said coldly. "Drive faster, I need to get there in five minutes, else I'll kill you!"

"Yes, Boss!"

Jaden’s fists clenched in his lap. His voice was low but filled with rage. "If anything happens to Julie or Hannah… I swear, I’ll burn that place to the ground."

The car bolted forward, weaving between vehicles, engines growling. Drax—ex-military, the best wheelman Jaden knew—handled it like a missile locked on target.

Minutes later, the car screeched to a halt in front of an old, graffiti-stained building. Posters of half-naked women and heavy metal bands littered the cracked walls. A flickering red neon sign read Devil Club.

Several bulky bouncers stood outside, arms crossed, scanning the area with dead eyes.

Jaden stepped out, his presence instantly shifting the air around him. Dark aura, calm fury. Drax followed, carrying a black duffel.

“Yo! This isn’t a walk-in joint,” one bouncer stepped forward. “No permit card, no entry.”

Jaden didn’t even slow down. With a wave of his hand—slice!

Invisible energy tore through the air. Blood sprayed. Three bodies dropped like bags of meat.

Drax flinched, then smirked. “Boss isn’t playing tonight.”

They stormed inside.

The interior was nothing like the outside. Velvet red walls. Expensive lighting. Loud bass thumped through the speakers. Drunken laughter echoed from every corner, mixed with the scent of alcohol, cigars, and sin.

"Which way?" Drax asked.

Jaden glanced around, his eyes scanning every corridor.

“We split. I’ll take the east hall. You check the west. Kill anyone who resists.”

“Yes, Boss.”

Meanwhile, in Rafael’s chamber...

"You silly girl. Who the hell do you think you’re screaming for?" Rafael sneered, seated on his leather throne, surrounded by armed thugs. "God can’t hear you in the Devil Club."

Julie’s hands trembled against the ropes. Her cheeks stained with tears, but her eyes still burned with fury. "Please… please don’t hurt me."

Rafael laughed like a hyena. “Didn’t you say your brother was coming? Where is he now?”

He raised a hand.

"Bring her to me."

Robert burst out laughing. “Boss! What if we record this? My cousin Fatima will lose her mind! She helped plan the snatch—she’ll want proof.”

"Good idea!" Rafael said, amused. “Get your phone out. Start recording.”

He turned back to Julie and pointed. “Rip her clothes off. I wanna see her little tits.”

“My pleasure,” Robert said, licking his lips as he approached.

Julie screamed.

Meanwhile…

Jaden’s boots echoed through the dark hallway. Every room he passed, he kicked open. Anyone who tried to stop him ended up broken or dead.

He grabbed a guard by the collar. “Where is your boss?”

“I—I don’t know! I just run drinks!”

Jaden’s eyes flared red. “Wrong answer.”

He shoved the man through a glass window. Screams echoed. Alarms blared.

“Julie, hold on…” Jaden growled. “I’m coming.”
