Chapter 69 A Triumphant Day
A distinct earth–yellow glow materialized in her mind—Dana’s signature.
“Logan, twelve o’clock. Get ready,” Iris ordered sharply.
Logan didn’t hesitate.
He unleashed a full–force water jet toward the direction she indicated, the stream smashing through a pillar and triggering a collapse.
Ceiling debris crashed down, slamming into the Earth–type mutant and pinning it temporarily.
“Keep firing straight for the center,” Iris said coldly.
Logan redirected the high–pressure jet, cutting through the rubble to strike the superpowered zombie’s skull with precision.
In Iris‘ psychic field, the earth–yellow glow winked out, replaced by a small, bright shard–a Level 3 crystal core.
“Done,” she announced, opening her eyes.
She stared at Dana’s lifeless body, then scaled down from the third floor, clinging to exposed steel bars and concrete chunks 1k5a nimble gecko.

Reaching the bottom, she pried the crystal core from the zombie’s skull with her blade.
Logan followed her down the collapsed stairwell, admiration swelling once more.
How did she pinpoint the zombie’s location so accurately?
She was cool, efficient, and unyielding–never a misstep.
Partnering with someone so capable made every mission seamless.
Today only deepened his respect: Iris was truly extraordinary.
With the Level 3 zombie eliminated, Iris and Logan cleared out the remaining stragglers in the factory. Kevin and the others scoured the building, collecting crystal cores to hand over to Iris.
Theft wasn’t a concern for her. For one, the survivors didn’t know the cores‘ purpose; for another, her Psychic Power let her sense their glow.
A quick scan revealed no hidden cores among the
group.
“Ms. Hale, here are all the crystal cores we collected!”

Kevin approached, handing over a pile gathered by the team.
Iris scanned the sixteen survivors, confirming none had stashed any away, and nodded in satisfaction.
The haul totaled 1208 crystal cores, plus one Level 3 core.
“Count how many each person collected and assign reward points accordingly,” Iris told Kevin.
“Points?” Kevin echoed, confusion evident in his tone.
“Yes. Come with me to the base, and I’ll explain how to use them,” she replied.
The survivors‘ faces lit up–they were finally leaving the dangerous factory.
“Yes, Ms. Hale!” they chorused eagerly.
Iris located several working cars in the factory yard.
Most were intact but lacked keys, a problem she solved quickly with a few adjustments, securing enough vehicles for everyone.
Before departing, she raided the factory.
Guided by Kevin and the others, she found all the production workshops.

This was Aster City’s largest food factory, stocked with staples like oats, quinoa, wheat, and cooking oil–total reserves exceeding 100 thousand tons.
Iris tasked Logan with repairing the factory gates, mounting a sign with her name, and raising her flag to mark it as her territory.
She then emptied the warehouses, stowing crates of packaged food until her spatial storage was three–quarters full.
That volume equated to filling a ten–story building from top to
bottom.
The food would feed not just her, but seven or eight thousand people for a lifetime.
Iris was thrilled with the haul.
She left the machinery and production lines untouched–they’d be vital once her base’s productivity grew, allowing her to process more food on–site.
