The Luna Queen's Rebirth (Ellie and Dominic) novel Chapter 395

Chapter 395

“What’s the matter, Alpha Dominic?” Terence laughed. “Not used to butchering your own meat?”

“I’ll admit it’s a process I’m usually removed from,” Dominic admitted as he popped the meat into his mouth, eyes fluttering a little with appreciation at the rich taste. He reached for his wine and gestured to me. Ellie actually took down a wild boar once all on her own.”

My father’s brows shot up. “I thought you said you weren’t much of a warrior.”

“I’m not,” I said. “The thing almost killed me. Shattered my shin bone.”

Dominic froze, looking down at my leg under the table. My father blinked. “And yet, you don’t use a cane like your old father,” he mused.

“Well.” I set down my fork. “It’s a funny story, actually. I found a rare plant in the woods that day. It healed my leg right in front of me. I’m still not sure how I did that.”

Terence’s eyes widened. “Go on,” he said slowly.

I glanced at Dominic, who nodded encouragingly. Taking a breath, I went on to explain my findings with the plants to Terence. I told him about that day in the forest, as well as the day Dominic had an allergy attack, and finally, I began to tell him about the plant that allowed me to escape from Gareth’s camp.

When I mentioned Gareth, Terence looked like he’d seen a ghost.

“Gareth, you say?” He leaned back in his chair. “What did this rogue look like, if you don’t mind me asking?”

I frowned, thinking, then said, “I don’t remember much; it’s all a blur. But he had an eyepatch. He kidnapped me, said I was a Lycan Queen.” I swallowed. “He’s the one who killed my mother. My adoptive mother, I mean.”

Terence’s fork fell to his plate with a clatter. “I think I recall that man-he was the one leading the raid the night you were born.” He shook his head, thinking for a moment, then said, “I wonder… No… Perhaps not.”

“What is it?” Dominic asked, leaning forward.
