Chapter 107
Prince Kai walks in.
The tension in the room is instant, thick enough to choke on. He’s wearing a simple black shirt with the sleeves rolled up, revealing the muscles of his
Forearms. His dark hair is messy, falling over his forehead, and his green eyes, those cold, calculating eyes, are fixed right on me.
We stare at each other in a heavy silence. I want to scream at him to get away from me, but I also can’t stop my heart from racing at the sight of him.
Kai steps further into the room, walking silently as the tension between us tightens. I can feel his eyes roaming all over my body, scanning me from head to
toe as if he’s looking for injuries or some hidden mark. It makes me feel angry.
How dare he look at me like he actually cares what happens to me? Not after how he treated me in that basement, hurting me, insulting me, humiliating me
in the worst way possible and refusing to give me a single second to explain myself.
I look away angrily, staring at the window. I don’t care if I look childish or petty right now. He can go to hell with his fake concern.
‘He’s a jerk, but I think he’s worried, Lyra,’ Wyndra says, and I can feel her laughing at my stubbornness. Also, why is your heart suddenly racing?’
“Shut up,” I mutter under my breath, almost blocking her out of my mind. But I’ve missed her too much so I let her enjoy seeing me be embarrassed and
bothered.
“I can see that you’re finally awake,” Kai says.
His voice is deep, vibrating through the quiet room. I continue to stare at the window as if it’s the most interesting thing in the world. I don’t want to talk
to him. I don’t even want to acknowledge he’s standing there. Maybe if I ignore him long enough, he’ll just disappear.
“How do you feel?” he asks.
I don’t answer. I keep my jaw tight and my gaze fixed on the shadows outside. The silence stretches between us, tense and suffocating.
“Look at me, Lyra.”
His voice isn’t the usual command this time. It’s surprisingly soft with something that sounds almost like a plea. I have no choice. That tone pulls something deep inside me. Against my better judgment, I turn my head. My nerves jump when I realize he’s already standing right at the foot of the bed.
His bed. I’m actually sitting in the Royal Lycan Prince’s bed, tucked under his sheets. We look at each other for a long moment his green eyes searching mine for something I’m not ready to give.
“I’m fine,” I finally say, my voice sounding small.
“Good,” Kai replies, his expression relaxing just a fraction. “Because I was just considering calling the Academy’s doctor to check on you. You wouldn’t wake
up.”
I glare at him, feeling my anger flare up. “Why do you even care what happens to me, your highness? You hurt me and humiliate me every chance you get You threw me in a dark hole. Why the sudden interest in my health?”
Kai stares at me with a blank, unreadable expression. He doesn’t look guilty, but he doesn’t look angry either. “Punishing you for misbehaving doesn’t mean that I don’t care what happens to you, Lyra. There is a difference.”

Chapter 107-
The same frustration that nearly choked me in the garden hits me again. I let out a frustrated groan. “I didn’t even do anything wrong! You didn’t give me a
chance to explain! You just saw Roman and decided I was a… what was the word? A slut?”
Kai’s eyes flash with sudden, sharp dry. “There is nothing you have to explain. I saw what I saw in that garden. I saw his hands on you. I saw his mouth on
yours.”
