The Lycan Prince’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance) novel Chapter 252

Chapter 252

What is wrong with everyone? Am I supposed to know this guy? I can’t deny that he’s handsome and magnetic to look at, but he doesn’t look familiar to me in the slightest bit. So why on earth is he staring at me as if he expects me to know him more than I know myself?

“I’m really sorry…” I say when the silence stretches on for too long. “Do I know you?”

Suddenly, the heartbreak on his face twists into something entirely different. His features harden, and his green eyes darken with a flash of anger. He looks like he wants to attack me.

My heart races with fear as I stare at him. My instincts scream at me to get away from him. I shift my weight, trying to slide backward against the pillows to put some distance between us.

But the guy suddenly moves closer. He reaches out and grabs my hands so fast that I gasp. His grip is so tight and his fingers are squeezing my wrist like he wants to drag me out of bed. I feel completely terrified.

“It’s me, Lyra! Me! Kai!” His voice booms loud inside the small room. He leans in closer, his face inches from mine. “Why are you acting like you don’t know who I am?! It’s me!”

“I… I don’t know who you are!” I scream back as tears sting the corners of my eyes. I try to pull away, trying to wrench my wrist free. “Let me go! Get away from me!”

But he doesn’t let go. His grip remains like an iron vice. He keeps pushing forward, his voice rising as he insists that I know him. “Look at me, Lyra! You know me! You’re my mate!”

“I don’t have a mate! I don’t even know your name!”

Kara rushes forward, grabbing the back of the guy’s jacket. “Kai! let her be for now. The doctor explicitly said she shouldn’t be strained right now!”

“No, no, no!” The guy named Kai shouts, ignoring his sister as he stares down at me with wide, crazed eyes. “She knows me! She has to remember me! Lyra, look at my face. It’s me, Kai. Don’t you remember me? We met for the first time at the hidden oasis! I saved you from being killed by my father when you were framed for stealing his diamond! Don’t you remember how I brought you to the academy myself? Think about it!”

“No… please, I don’t remember how I got into the academy!” I cry out as panic overtakes my mind.

Chapter 252

I try to think about my arrival at the school. I try to force my brain to dig up the memory of how I got here. The exact moment I try to push past the blank space, a series of dark, violent visions try to flash into my head. Images of blood, terrifying monstrous faces, and roaring fire flashes across my consciousness.

Along with the visions, a sudden, blinding wave of pure agony fills my entire skull. It feels as if a hot knife

is being driven straight through my brain.

I scream out loud, a loud moan of intense pain ripping from my throat as I clutch the sides of my head with my free hand. My vision goes completely dark for a second.

“That’s enough Kai!”

Nick yells as he lunges forward and steps between me and the Kai. Nick drags Kai off my bed, throwing the green-eyed guy backward. “Get the hell off her! Can you not see the state she’s in right now?! You’re hurting

her!”

Kai tries to reach for me again but Damon stops him. He catches Kai before he can attack me again, wrapping his arms around Kai’s torso and holding him down with all his strength. Nick sits close to me and wraps his arms around my trembling shoulders to hold me safe against his chest.

The entire room descends into pure chaos. Things get incredibly intense within a matter of seconds. Kai is thrashing violently against Damon’s heavy grip, his eyes glowing an unnatural shade of red as he tries to break free. He keeps trying to reach out to touch me, his voice raw as he calls my name over and over again. What the hell does he want from me?

“Lyra! Just look at me! You have to remember!” Kai yells at me.

“Kai, stop it! You need to step out of the room right now!” Damon says, using his full weight to drag the furious guy away from me. “We are leaving. Now.”
