Chapter 253
Amara and Isolde rush to the other side of my bed. “It’s okay, Lyra. Just breathe. Don’t look at him,” Amara says gently, smiling at me even though she still looks shocked like Isolde. What is going on? Why are they all acting like I should know this Kai guy? Did I really… forget him?
Kara looks at me with deep sorrow in her eyes. “Get some rest, Lyra. Please don’t stress yourself out. I’ll be right back, okay? I promise.” She turns and steps outside with the other two guys, closing the door tightly
behind them.
The second the strange boy, Kai, is outside the room, the pressure in the air vanishes. I finally release a breath that I didn’t realize I was holding. My heart continues to race, but the blinding pain in my head slowly begins to dull into a manageable ache.
Amara and Isolde lean over the bed, throwing their arms around me in a warm, tight hug. I hold onto my friends, my body still shaking from the encounter.
“Don’t worry sweetheart. Kai won’t ever bother you again.” I look up to Roman who smiles softly at me. “Are you okay, Lyra?” He tries to reach out his hand to touch me but I’m still so tense that I shift backwards
slightly.
“I… I’m fine, Prince Roman. Thank you. I just… I wanna be with my friends right now… if you don’t mind.” I manage to say through my headache.
Roman looks disappointed for a moment then he smiles and nods before walking out of the room.
I pull back slightly to look at my friends who are still hugging me. “Who… who was that strange guy? Why was he acting like that?”
Amara swallows hard, exchanging a worried glance with Isolde before she answers in a low whisper. “He’s Prince Kai. The Lycan prince.”
I blink, my mind feeling completely blank. “There’s a Lycan Prince?”
Both Amara and Isolde stare at me in absolute shock, with their mouths slightly open. The way they are looking at me makes me feel like I just said something completely insane.

Chapter 253
:
Before I can ask them why they are looking at me like that, another sharp wave of dizziness hits my brain. The migraine starts hits my forehead. I let out a moan of pain, closing my eyes tightly as the room begins
to tilt again.
“That’s it. She needs the medical staff,” Nick’s voice cuts through the panic. I hear his footsteps moving toward the exit. “I’ll go get the doctor right now so he can check on her and give her something for the pain. Lyra, just close your eyes and rest. You girls watch her closely.”
I don’t argue with them. I gladly close my eyes, letting the darkness take over as I try to escape the terrifying confusion of my own mind.
Kai’s POV
I slam my fist hard into the wall of the hallway. The concrete cracks under the force of my knuckles. I completely ignore the stinging pain in my hand. It’s nothing compared to the one in my heart right now.
I turn around and begin pacing back and forth like a caged beast, my breathing coming in ragged, furious
pants.
Vlad is roaring inside my head, clawing at my mind with an absolute, primal panic. ‘How can she forget us?! Fix it, Kai! Go back in there and make her remember!’
“She has to be lying,” I mutter out loud to myself, my eyes darting wildly around the empty hallway. “She has to be playing some sort of sick game to get back at me for pushing her away at the party. Lyra cannot just forget me. She is my goddess-given, fated mate! There is absolutely no way in hell a fated mate can just erase their other half from their mind. The bond doesn’t work that way!”
Kara steps into my path, catching my arms to stop my frantic pacing. Her eyes are bright with unshed tears, her face filled with deep pity. I hate being pitied. I hate it so much.
“Kai, please. You need to calm down right now. Take a deep breath. The doctor is checking on her now. Just wait for him to come out and tell us exactly what is going on. Hitting the walls isn’t going to fix her head.”
“I don’t give a fuck about the walls, Kara!” I roar back, my voice echoing loudly down the quiet medical wing. Several patients turn towards me but I don’t care. “She looked at me like I was a monster Kara! She asked me who I was!”
