The Lycan Prince’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance) novel Chapter 255

Chapter 255

Lyra

I try to breathe, but it is completely impossible.

Everywhere around me is extremely dark, a heavy blackness that presses down on my chest. The air feels

toxic, burning the back of my throat with every shallow gasp I try to take.

I hear distorted voices echoing from all directions. They are saying something, whispering and shouting over one another, but the words are completely distorted. I can’t make out a single sentence.

Where am I? What is happening to me?

Suddenly, terrifying faces of demons begin to appear out of the shadows. Their faces are twisted and disfigured, blurring around my vision like terrifying monsters.

No. No. No!

A cold panic seizes my entire body. I try to scream for help, I try to call out for anyone to save me, but the sound completely dies in my chest. It doesn’t come out at all. I’m trapped, utterly silent in my own skin.

Then, just as I am about to completely lose my breath and suffocate in the darkness, the shadows part. A figure steps forward into my line of sight. It looks like a demon but it’s too dark and blurry to see.

I try to move away, but I’m stuck. It’s like I’m being held in place. The demon’s eyes glow a blue color as he

leans in close to my ear.

“Now, You will forget him and become mine mine…”

The scary voice echoes through my head, making me scream in pain. The sound is deafening, and as the words repeat, the ground beneath me begins to crumble. I scream as my body falls endlessly.

I open my eyes with a loud gasp and bolt upright in bed.

My heart is pounding like a wild drum against my ribs. I press my chest with a trembling hand, taking deep, frantic gulps of the cool air. I look around the room, my eyes wide as the morning light streams through the

window.

Thank the goddess. That was only a dream. It was just a nightmare.

I let out a shaky breath, rubbing my face with both hands. The problem is, I’ve been having a lot of those dreams lately. They keep coming back, night after night, leaving me drenched in cold sweat. It feels as if my mind is desperately trying to show me something important, maybe trying to reveal my lost memories. But whatever is blocking my mind is still completely holding it back, keeping the truth just out of my reach.

I look around my quiet room for a moment, trying to calm my racing pulse. Once my breathing slows down, I swing my legs out from under the covers and stand up. I walk slowly over to the bathroom, where I stop

and stare at myself in the mirror.

I look so much thinner than I used to. My face is pale, and my eyes look incredibly swollen and dark, surrounded by deep shadows of exhaustion. There is a thick white bandage still wrapped securely around my forehead. It is a constant proof of my huge head injury. I trace the edge of the fabric with my fingertips. Even after a whole week has passed since waking up in the hospital, I still don’t feel okay. My body feels heavy, and my thoughts are constantly clouded by a strange fog.
