The Lycan Prince’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance) novel Chapter 257

Chapter 257

Amara steps closer to the edge of my bed, clapping her hands together. “It’s time to come and eat breakfast right now. Get out of bed! I made something absolutely delicious for the weekend, and you need to eat well

to get your strength back.”

Isolde rolls her eyes playfully, letting out a loud snicker as she leans against the doorframe. “Don’t listen to her, Lyra. Amara is an absolutely terrible cook. She probably burnt everything to a crisp again. Eat at your

own risk.”

I let out a genuine laugh, shaking my head at their familiar bickering. “I don’t care,” I say, smiling at Amara’s pouting face. “I am absolutely starving today. I’ll happily eat anything Amara makes.”

Our new dorm in the academy is much more special and luxurious than our previous one. Before the accident, all three of us stayed in the same room together. But this new place is a huge duplex apartment. It is incredibly beautiful, almost as big as the apartments the royals live in.

The apartment has separate, spacious bedrooms for the three of us, a huge living room with plush sofas, a wide kitchen with modern appliances, and there is even a small library upstairs where we can study and

keep all our books.

When we first moved in a few days ago, I had asked Amara and Isolde how on earth we were suddenly gifted such a high-end dorm out of nowhere. But they refused to tell me the real story. They just exchanged a guilty, nervous glance, shrugged their shoulders, and told me that we were all just incredibly lucky. I didn’t push it, but I still feel like they are keeping something from me.

I step out of my bedroom, closing the door behind me, and join the two girls as we walk downstairs together. The sweet, savory aroma of freshly cooked food fills the entire lower level of the duplex, making my stomach rumble.

We walk into the wide kitchen, and I see the amazing meal that Amara made spread across the counter. There are thick, fluffy pancakes, perfectly scrambled eggs, and a large bowl of fresh fruit.

I sit down at the counter and take a large bite of a pancake. I instantly look up at Amara with wide eyes. “Wow, Amara, this is amazing! You are a fantastic cook. Isolde was dead wrong.”

Amara beams with absolute pride, sticking her tongue out at Isolde. “See? I told you! Lyra actually

appreciates my talents.”

Isolde laughs, grabbing a plate for herself. “Fine, fine. I admit it smells good today. You got lucky.”

We sit together at the kitchen island, eating and chatting about random things. For a little while, the weight of my missing memories completely vanishes, replaced by the warmth of my friend’s company.

After we finish eating every last bite of the food, we clean up the kitchen together. Once everything is spotless, we all move into the living room, crashing down onto the huge, comfortable sofa. Amara grabs the remote and turns on the TV, flipping through the channels until a random show plays in the background.

The comfortable silence doesn’t last very long, though. Isolde shifts her position on the cushions, turning her body to look at me and Amara. Her expression goes a bit serious.

“We really need to start studying and practicing,” Isolde says in a low voice. “Our coming wolf assessment test is next week. The professors aren’t going to delay the exams just because of the recent chaos on

campus.”

Isolde is right. I look down at my lap, twisting the fabric of my sweatpants as anxiety forms in my stomach.

“I don’t know what I’m going to do,” I mutter softly, staring at my hands. “I feel so sad just thinking about it. I keep wondering how on earth I’ll even pass my next test. I can’t do anything right now.”

Amara notices the sudden drop in my mood. She shifts closer to me on the sofa and places a gentle hand on my arm. “Lyra… have you still not heard anything from your fox again? Not even a tiny spark?”

I shake my head slowly, my voice dropping into a tight, sad whisper. “No. Nothing at all. It’s like Wyndra doesn’t even exist inside me anymore. The space where her energy used to be is completely empty. To be honest, I’m absolutely scared that my fox might have died when whatever happened to me caused me to lose some of my memories. What if the attack killed her?”

“Hey, stop right there. Don’t talk like that,” Isolde says immediately, her voice firm but gentle. She reaches out and squeezes my other hand tightly. “Do not pressure yourself right now, Lyra. Your body went through a huge, terrifying trauma. The doctor said she is just resting. Surely, Wyndra will come back to you when the time is right and your body is fully healed. You just have to be patient.”

Amara nods her head in strong agreement as she smiles at me. “Isolde is right, Lyra. We don’t care. The

most important thing is you. Both of us are just so glad that you are alright, that you are alive, and that you

are back home with us. We love you so much.”

I look between the two of them as tears suddenly feel my eyes. The heavy burden in my chest feels a little
