Chapter 326
“Doctor! Doctor!” I yell, my deep voice booming so loudly through the corridor that the patients and nurses in the hallway freeze, their faces instantly terrified by my beastly tone. I don’t care that I sound murderous right now. I might actually murder the academy doctor because how didn’t he know what state Lyra is currently in?? What if I hadn’t thought to touch her skin?
I spot the lead doctor standing near a desk, talking quietly to a nurse. I sprint down the hall, closing the distance with my long strides in a second. Before he can even react, I grab the doctor by his coat in a tight grip.
“What the fuck is wrong with my mate?!” I shout into his face, my chest heaving. “She’s been out for almost a whole day, and now her skin is ice cold! What the fuck is wrong with her?!”
The doctor looks terrified, his eyes wide as he holds up his hands. “Your Highness, please! Please calm down. We will run checks on Lyra
Diamond immediately. Please let me go so we can help her.”
I glare at him for a moment before releasing his coat. The doctor and a few nurses immediately rush down the hall and burst into Lyra’s
room, bringing a tray of strange medical instruments with them.
I step forward, about to follow them inside, but the doctor turns around and holds a hand up, blocking the doorway. “You cannot enter right now, Your Highness. I plead with you, stay outside. We need to put her under the Helios UV machine immediately to check what’s wrong. The machine has powerful magical elements built into its lights, so it will detect exactly what is wrong with her internal temperature and show us how we can fix it. Please, give us room.”
I clench my jaw, feeling the desperate urge to push past him raging in my blood, but I hesitantly agree. I nod once and step back into the
hallway.
The door clicks shut, cutting off my view. I can’t stop myself as I begin to pace back and forth in front of Lyra’s door, my boots clicking against the tile. My hands are shoved into my pockets, my knuckles white. Goddess, please let her be fine. Please, please don’t take her away
from me.
After some minutes, I hear footsteps coming from the end of the hall. I look up and see the others coming back toward the wing. Kara, Amara, Isolde, Damon, and Nick all arrive at the same time, their faces etched with deep anxiety.
Kara walks straight up to me, grabbing my shoulders with a firm grip. “What happened, Kai? We thought you were with Lyra. Why are the doctors in there?”
I stare at my sister silently for a moment, trying with everything in me to hold back the fear and panic threatening to break me. My eyes burn with sudden, hot tears, and my hands tremble against my sides.
“Some..Something is w-wrong with her,” I whisper, my voice cracking as I stutter uncontrollably. “She has refused to wake up, and now… now her skin is ice cold, Kara. It’s like touching a corpse. If anything happens to her…if… if she dies…”
Kara’s face softens as she immediately understands the agony in my voice and pulls me into her arms, hugging me tightly. “Oh, Kal… no matter what’s wrong, she’ll be fine. I promise you. She is strong.”

Chapter 326
A single tear falls from my eye no matter how hard I try to stop it. I hug my sister back tightly, burying my face against her shoulder, finding some deeperate comfort in her presence.
“I can’t help but feel like all of this is my fault,” My voice is tougher as I choke out. “At least if she was back at her old pack, she wouldn’t he facing all this danger. She wouldn’t be-”
“Don’t you dare say that, brother,” Kara snaps, pulling back just enough to glare directly into my eyes. “You know exactly what life she had there. They were slowly killing her at Valeria. They treated her like trash. The best thing you ever did was finding her and taking her out of that hellhole. So don’t you dare start regretting your actions now, Kai. You need to be strong for her. You just need to make it right
with her once she wakes up. Okay?”
I swallow the lump in my throat and nod, quickly cleaning my tear with the back of my hand.
Kara turns her head, glaring at Amara and Isolde, who are quietly sniffling against the wall. “And you girls, stop crying! Lyra will be fine,
