The Lycan Primee’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance)

Chapter 51

Kai

The royal round table is filled with every important member of the main territories that surround the Lycanthropy kingdom. I’ve been seated here for the past twenty minutes, but it already feels like hours. The air in the hall is thick with the scent of expensive cologne, foasted meat, and the stifling weight of political tension.

My father, King Geo, sits at the head of the table. He faces everyone with a practiced, stonecold expression. He looks incredibly regal with his golden crown resting on his dark hair. I can see the grey specs in his beard and at his temples, but they don’t make him look old. They just make him look more dangerous.

His royal outfit is heavy with embroidery and medals, a physical reminder of the power he wields over all of us. He is the most intimidating man I have ever known and he knows it.

My mother sits on his left. She is draped in a shimmery silver dress that catches the light every time she breathes. Her green eyes are much like mine,

though hers are currently twinkling with eyeshadow. She looks nothing less than perfect. She has always been obsessed with her image. To her, a strand of

hair out of place is a sign of weakness. She ains a smile that never quite reaches her eyes, scanning the room to make sure everyone else is playing their part correctly.

Roman is the only one absent. The idiot always conveniently misses these functions. He has a knack for disappearing right when it’s time for these things. Sometimes I actually envy him. I wish I could be free like him, roaming the campus or the city without any obligations to my father’s legacy. But I am the

Crown Prince. I don’t get to hide.

I look over at the other side of the table and see Katarina. She is here with her parents, Giuseppe and Polina Zora. They are the leaders of the Zora kingdom, a powerful bloodline that are sworn and loyal to my father. Rina catches my eye and winks at me from across the table. She has been trying to flirt with me

Welcome, everyone,he says. His voice is deep and powerful, commanding the attention of every soul in the room. Thank you for honoring our dinner

Everyone at the table rises. We bow our heads in a display of respect. My father waits a second, enjoying the silence, before he waves his hand in a

dismissive gesture.

Please, take your seats,he says.

We all sit back down. I glance at my father. He has a look in his eye that I don’t like. A look of mischief that tells me he is about to announce something. and in this family, a surprise is rarely a good thing. I grip the edge of my chair and wait for the blow to hit.
