“Did you just slap me there?” I whisper, my voice trembling with disbelief.

“And I’ll do it again if you don’t stay quiet,” Kai says. His voice is a low, dangerous rumble that vibrates against my chest.

My face burns with a heat so intense it feels like my face might burn. I have no choice. I shut my mouth and bury my face in the

fabric of his jacket so I won’t have to see the students who are definitely staring at the Crown Prince carrying his slave like a piece

Kai doesn’t drop me, even after we reach the privacy of his apartment. I try to wiggle off him as we pass through the living room, but his grip is like iron. He doesn’t stop until he walks straight into my small bedroom.

The room feels electric, like there’s a buzz in the air between us, and I can feel the hairs on my arms standing up. The tension is almost too much to handle. Kai takes a slow step forward, and instinctively, I shift backward on the bed until my back hits the

headboard.

He notices the reaction. A dark shadow crosses his eyes as he suddenly leans down, his hand grabbing my chin firmly. He lifts my head, forcing me to look straight into those forest-green eyes that are still swirling with a hint of black anger.

“This is the last time you will ever step out of this room again,” he tells me. His voice is cold, final, and

utterly devoid of mercy.

I stare at him, my heart sinking. “You can’t do that! I have classes! I passed my assessment! You can’t just lock me away!”

“Well I just did,” he grins wickedly.

I stare at him in shock. How can he be so cruel? What did I ever do to earn this kind of hatred?

You’re just a pathetic sadist,” I tell him, the words spat out like venom. I don’t care if I regret talking to him in such a manner, “Someone like you only gets a hard-on when you’re bullying people who can’t fight back. Does it make you feel powerful to ruin my

Kai raises his eyebrows, looking surprised for a second. Then, a slow, mocking smile spreads on his lips, as if he is actually enjoying my insults.
