The Lycan Prince’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance) novel Chapter 65

Chapter 65

I open my eyes just as Salva moves. He throws a punch aimed right for my head. Usually, I would have flinched or ran away, but now, I don’t even break a sweat. I weave through the air, my body moving like a shadow in the breeze. His fist passes my ear, hitting nothing but empty space.

Salva loses his balance, almost falling off the mat. He spins around, his face turning a darker shade of purple. “What the hell was

that?” he grumbles, his chest heaving. “Stop dancing around and fight me like a wolf, you coward!”

He charges at me again, this time faster, his moves driven by pure frustration. I don’t even have to think. I can feel everyone’s eyes

on me–the silence in the arena is so thick you could hear a pin drop. They’re all staring at me like they can’t believe I’m the same

girl who was on the ground five minutes ago.

One by one, I block every punch he throws. I catch his strikes with the back of my hand, moving smoothly and casually. He swings, I tilt my head. He thrusts, I block. He’s starting to get pretty frustrated, his breath coming in ragged, angry gasps.

“Stand still!” he yells, his voice cracking with rage. I almost want to laugh at his

angered

state.

After a few more blocked hits, he loses his cool completely and jumps up, throwing a high kick aimed right at my head. I react before his leg even fully extends. I hop into the air with a skill I didn’t even realize I had and catch his knee while it’s still moving, pushing his leg away with a sharp, calculated shove. He can’t keep his balance and tips over. Salva falls backward onto the hard ground with a loud thump.

Everyone gasps at the same time. Salva rolls onto his side, grabbing his hip. “Damn you, bitch!” he yells, his face squeezed red in

pain.

He tries to get back to his feet, but in his rush, he leaves his side completely exposed. I see the opening I need right under his ribcage. I move with lightning speed, targeting his power handles, the pressure points Professor Vane mentioned in the lecture. I strike him hard, once, twice, right where it hurts the most.

Salva yells out and crashes onto his back, his body jerking

as he gasps for air for the second time. He doesn’t get up.

Professor Vane steps into the ring, looking between Salva’s body and me. “Salva Delvin has five

Lyra, you actually did it!”

Mia, the quiet girl who won her match earlier, walks up and gives me a nod of respect, and a few other girls gather around/to congratulate me. Even Professor Vane has a rare smile on his face as he looks at me. “Impressive work, Diamond.”

I look up toward the gallery, my heart still racing from the adrenaline. Princess Kara is standing on her chair, clapping for me with a huge grin. Beside her, Prince Kai is watching me. He isn’t smiling, but for the first time since I met him, there is something in his eyes that looks dangerously close to pride. My chest races with a foreign feeling at the sight of it.

On the other side, Princess Rina is just staring at her phone, looking bored as if she was being forced to watch the fight.

As I step down from the combat stage, more females crowd around me. “How did you do that?” one asks. “You moved so fast!” another yells. I try to answer, but my voice is gone, lost in the multiple voice that are talking at the same time.

Suddenly, there’s a sudden loud clap that stops everyone in their tracks. An awkward silence takes over the arena.

Everyone looks at who clapped. It’s King Geo. He stands at the door with two guards beside him. He claps two more times and walks
