The Man Who Waited vs. The Man Who Wasted novel Chapter 308

Adrian's expression was darker than it had ever been.

He had called her countless times with no answer, only to discover she had finally blocked his number.

Damn you, Jocelyn!

The second they were divorced, she had turned completely heartless!

Blind with rage, he smashed his phone against the wall.

Audrey had just walked in the door after a shopping trip with Eleanor and Michelle. The shattered mess on the floor made her jump.

"Adrian, what happened here?"

He brushed her off casually.

"Nothing. I just accidentally dropped my phone."

"Oh," Audrey murmured.

Eleanor glanced at the wreckage, entirely unconvinced by his flimsy excuse.

"Is it finalized?"

"Yes," he muttered.

"Finally. Now we can finally have some peace and quiet in this house."

Michelle practically cheered. "Today really is a wonderful day! Mom, shouldn't we throw a huge celebration?"

Eleanor nodded in agreement. "Not a bad idea. We'll have a proper feast tonight. Go tell the kitchen staff to stock up immediately. Tell them to only buy the absolute best ingredients."

"Right away! I'll let them know."

Michelle swaggered off toward the kitchen, her hips swaying with uncontained joy.

She was clearly the most thrilled out of all of them.

The wretched jinx she hated more than anything was finally gone forever. Nothing in the world could make Michelle happier.

Eleanor shot Adrian a sharp look.

"Adrian, why do you look so miserable? You should be celebrating."

A wonderful day?

A celebration?

The mere concept made his stomach turn with absolute revulsion.

But he couldn't unleash his frustration on Eleanor, so he swallowed the bile rising in his throat and forced his tone to remain steady.

"Just some setbacks at the office. Nothing to worry about."

"You're going to be a father now. It's time you learned to control your temper," Eleanor lectured. "Throwing tantrums in front of Audrey and your future son is completely unacceptable."
