The Man Who Waited vs. The Man Who Wasted novel Chapter 334

Jocelyn headed toward their private room, only to realize Julian hadn't gone far. He was waiting for her just down the hall.

A warmth bloomed in her chest, and she quickly walked over to him.

"Why didn't you go inside?"

"I needed some fresh air anyway," Julian replied casually.

Jocelyn didn't overthink it. "Ah."

"Done talking?"

"Yeah."

Jocelyn's mind drifted for a second. "Julian."

"Hmm?"

"Do you ever think love is just some crazy kind of magic? Sometimes, even when you know you're like a moth to a flame, you still dive in recklessly."

Julian looked at her intently, a flicker of confusion in his eyes.

Jocelyn offered an awkward laugh. "I'm not talking about myself. Though I guess I'm not much different."

Back when she loved Adrian to the point of losing herself, wasn't she just a moth flying into the fire?

"Lana just told me she loves Adrian. I wanted to talk some sense into her, but I know it's completely useless."

Love was the kind of thing that wouldn't let you wake up until it tore you apart and left you bleeding. Just like it did to her.

Julian was quiet for a few seconds. "If she wants to love him, let her. Even if she burns up like a moth to a flame, at least she'll know what love feels like."

Jocelyn caught a strange look in Julian's eyes.

Was he thinking about the girl he secretly loved?

She couldn't help but ask, "Did you just think about your secret crush? Do you regret not just going for it?"

The smile on Julian's lips carried a hint of bitterness. "Maybe."

Jocelyn suddenly remembered something else. "Earlier, you said you were going to send them a grand gift for their wedding. Were you serious?"

Julian smiled faintly. "I was."

"What a waste of money."

"It doesn't cost anything. It's just a piece of paper."

Jocelyn was surprised. "A piece of paper?"

"Yeah. It's useless to us, but to Mr. Lowell, it should be incredibly useful."

Jocelyn pursed her lips, trying to guess what it could be. She looked so focused and adorable doing it.

Julian couldn't stop the corners of his mouth from curling upward. He leaned in slightly, whispering something in her ear.
