Staring at the two people in the photograph, Audrey felt her knees go weak.
It was a picture of Adrian and Lana.
Adrian's face was clearly visible, but Lana was facing away from the camera.
The woman in the photo had a stunningly slender, tall figure, with dark, glossy hair falling in soft waves.
With trembling hands, Audrey pulled up the picture her friend had texted her earlier.
After closely comparing the two images, she confirmed it was the exact same woman.
And that woman was definitely not Jocelyn.
A knot of dread tightened in Audrey's stomach.
If it wasn't Jocelyn, then who was it?
Who the hell was this woman? Adrian was supposed to be at the Robotics Expo—why was she with him?
Was she really just an important client, like he had claimed?
If she was just a client, why was Adrian intimately fixing her hair?
That level of affection went far beyond any standard professional boundary.
Shortly after Jocelyn arrived at the office, she received a call from her OB-GYN.
"Someone came by the clinic today asking if you were pregnant," the doctor informed her. "She seemed quite hostile, so I didn't tell her anything and had her escorted out. But you should be careful."
Jocelyn paused, surprised.
"What did the woman look like?"
The doctor provided a brief description.
Jocelyn immediately figured it out.
It was Audrey, without a doubt.
Even though she had already instructed the clinic to keep her pregnancy strictly confidential, Jocelyn still felt a wave of gratitude.
"Thank you so much, Doctor."
"You don't need to thank me," the doctor replied. "Given the mix-up with the donor sample, it's a blessing that you haven't pressed charges against the clinic."
"Besides, Mr. Vance specifically instructed us to ensure complete discretion."
