The Man Who Waited vs. The Man Who Wasted novel Chapter 40

Sarah hiccuped. "What's he doing here?"

Jocelyn then remembered.

Adrian had messaged her earlier, asking for the name of the hotel.

She had casually sent it to him, but she hadn't expected him to actually show up.

Just as Adrian was approaching, Jocelyn was suddenly pulled into an embrace by Liam.

He mumbled, "Jo, it's been so long."

Jocelyn tried to push him away, but couldn't.

At the same time, she saw Adrian's face turn to stone.

He strode over and ripped Liam off of Jocelyn.

Liam staggered and nearly fell, but Sarah managed to catch him.

Before Sarah could say anything, she saw Adrian drag Jocelyn away.

Jocelyn, in her high heels, nearly twisted her ankle, but she managed to make a "call me later" gesture to Sarah.

The car sped down the highway, well over the speed limit.

Adrian's face was a mask of fury.

Jocelyn gripped the handle tightly, remaining silent for the time being.

Speaking now would only provoke him further, and with him driving so recklessly, it could easily end in a fatal accident.

Oh wait, not one death, but three.

If something happened to Adrian, it didn't matter, but Jocelyn still wanted to live.

The car finally screeched to a halt in front of the villa.

Jocelyn took the opportunity to compose and send a text message.

The message was just two words: Oakhaven Estates.

Previously, an organizer known as "Storm" had launched a dark web operation, attacking the largest child pornography site on the dark web, leading to the arrest of the site's operators and owners.

It was rumored that the organizer who went by the online alias "Storm" was a computer science student from Northwood University.

Adrian had always admired this person and had even had people search for information about "Storm," but to no avail.

If he could find this person and recruit them for his company, they would be a major asset.

Jocelyn glanced at Adrian nonchalantly, a mocking smile playing on her lips. "So?"

Adrian came back to his senses. "You graduated from Northwood University?"

Jocelyn said, "As my husband, you don't even know where I graduated from. Should I be sad about that?"

Adrian was speechless. He knew very little about Jocelyn.

He had only wanted to marry a wife who would be easy to manage, so he had never bothered to get to know her.

Adrian's eyes lit up. "Do you know a person from your university who goes by the online alias 'Storm'?"
