Adrian turned to Jocelyn. "Let's go home first. We can do this another day."
Jocelyn scoffed internally.
Did he think she was a three-year-old he could fool?
Audrey's little scheme was practically written on her face.
But Adrian was the only one who couldn't see it.
"Adrian, let's go back quickly," Claire urged. "It's just a transfer. We can do it any day. Leo needs you."
Not wanting to delay any longer, Adrian started to leave.
"Adrian." Jocelyn called out to him.
"It's our turn now. It's just a matter of signing some papers. It won't take long."
Adrian looked displeased. "Can't you tell what's more important?"
Claire smirked from the side, her provocation unconcealed.
Jocelyn became even more certain that Leo wasn't sick at all.
If the situation were truly that dire, the news wouldn't have come from Claire. Eleanor or Michelle would have reached out personally.
A cynical laugh escaped her.
Audrey was clearly channeling all her cunning into Adrian.
Playing the saint while being the sinner.
Jocelyn knew she couldn't stop Adrian now, so she fell silent.
"Mr. Lowell."
A familiar voice.
Jocelyn looked up and saw the person approaching, and froze for a moment.
It was Julian Vance.
Was he back from his business trip?
Adrian stopped. "Mr. Vance?"
Julian smiled faintly. "I didn't expect to run into you here, Mr. Lowell."
Adrian's attitude was noticeably more polite. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person. I've been meaning to pay you a visit, but I just haven't had the time."
"The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Lowell," Julian replied.
Julian didn't speak to her further, turning back to Adrian.
"Mr. Lowell, if you're finished here, there's a collaboration I'd like to get your opinion on."
Adrian chuckled. "Mr. Vance, you're already at the top of the industry. Why would you need my opinion?"
"You're being modest, Mr. Lowell. Everyone knows Momentum is the one setting the pace in this industry," Julian said. "I'm new to Northwood City and still unfamiliar with the market and future trends. If you don't mind that we're competitors, I'd appreciate your guidance."
Jocelyn hid a smile.
She remembered that when she had chatted with Julian the other day, he had spoken eloquently about the future of the market.
This speech successfully stroked Adrian's ego.
"In that case, please wait a moment, Mr. Vance. I'll be right over after I finish this transfer with my wife."
Jocelyn walked a short distance away, then glanced back at Julian.
He gave her a slight nod.
Jocelyn returned a grateful smile.
She guessed that Julian had said all that to help her.
