Chapter 88-2–
Chapter 88-2
Claim
The sight of the mant care for physically restraining my half-sister against the wall makes my stomach churn with a sickening wave of revulsion, but the sheer violation of her breaking into our home overrules everything else. This is the end. The final, brutal fracture.
I reach out, my fingers trembling as I force her white-knuckled fist open. She tries to bite my hand, snapping her teeth toward my fingers, but Locke tightens his grip on her wrist with a low warning growl, forcing her to cry out in pain.
“Don’t you fucking dare,” Locke warns her, his voice absolute ice. “Do not snap at her.”
I pry the cold, silver key from her palm. It feels heavy, a physical manifestation of her betrayal.
“Check her pockets,” Locke repeats, his chest heaving against her back as he holds her completely immobilized.
I shove my hands into the pockets of her jeans, searching every inch of denim. There’s nothing, though: no weapons, no phone, no second key. Her pockets are completely empty.
“Nothing else,” I say, stepping back with the key in my palm. “This is all she has. Not even a wallet or ID.”
Locke doesn’t release her immediately. He keeps her pinned against the wall, his breathing deep and dangerous, his eyes locked on the side of her face. Willow’s cheek is pressed flat against the drywall, tears of pain and pure, venomous rage streaming down her face, soaking into the paint.
“Listen to me very carefully, Willow,” Locke growls into her ear. “If you ever come near this building again, if you so much as stand on the sidewalk across the street, I will not grab you. I will not hold you back. I will put you in the fucking ground. Do you understand me?”
Willow lets out a bitter, little laugh, her frame trembling under his weight. “You think you can protect her from everything, don’t you? You think you can shoot your way out of reality.”
“I’m giving you five seconds to walk out that door,” Locke says, slowly easing his grip, dragging her toward the threshold before releasing her arm with a harsh shove. “Five seconds to go and never come back.”
Willow stumbles forward into the cold, outer corridor, clutching her shoulder where his grip was. She spins around, her pale face flushed red, her eyes burning with a terrifying, unhinged malice that has completely replaced any lingering trace of the innocent girl who arrived in our lives just a few days ago.
There’s no going back now, though. The fragile thread that Dad tried so desperately to hold onto is cut clean in half; she isn’t a long-lost sister seeking answers anymore. She’s an intruder, a threat, an enemy who’s crossed every line.
“You really think this is over just because you took the key back?” Willow spits, wiping the tears off her face with the back of her wet hand. She looks past Locke, fixing her hollow, dead gaze directly on me.
“I don’t need a key to watch you crumble, Zara,” she whispers, her voice carrying with a terrifying, melodic clarity. “I watched you stand in that clubhouse today, pulling your sickness out like a shield. I watched the way they all bowed down to your weakness.”
“Willow, just leave,” I say, clutching my silk robe tightly against my chest, the cold air from the hallway

ehilling me to the bone. “Please. It’s over.”
“It’s not over,” she says smoothly, taking a slow step backward toward the elevator. “I came here thinking you stole my life. I came here bitter because you had the father, the money, the men, the penthouse. Locke.”
She stops, a faint, chilling smile touching the corners of her lips – a smile that makes my blood run entirely cold.
“But standing out there in the snow… holding that key… I realized the hilarious truth,” Willow murmurs softly. “You didn’t steal my life, Zara. You’re just keeping it warm for me.”
