Chapter 212-1

The upscale dining room of Saffron and Silk smells of toasted garlic, lemongrass, crushed peanuts, sizzling seafood, and rich coconut curries.

Under normal circumstances, this place is filled with quiet murmurs, hushed clinking of fine wine glasses, and ambient music playing softly over concealed speakers.

Tonight, it belongs entirely to the Grinning Skulls MC.

Thirty heavy, leather-clad men occupy both sides of the enormous single table. The contrast

between them is staggering.

Hovering near the kitchen doors is a cluster of waitstaff who look entirely, irrevocably

shell-shocked.

A young server holding a tray of water glasses looks as though she’s contemplating her life choices, her eyes wide as she watches Brick use a cloth napkin to polish his knuckle dusters before setting them beside his water tumbler.

Beside her, the floor manager stands frozen, stiff as a board, clutching his iPad like a shield while Byte tries to politely explain how the restaurant’s point-of-sale terminal could be optimized for

faster kitchen tickets.

Byte is even drawing a small diagram on a paper napkin to demonstrate flow rate, completely unaware that the manager looks ready to hyperventilate.

“Look at this,” Jade whispers, nudging my shoulder. “It’s like dropping a pack of wolves into an art gallery.”

“A pack of very hungry wolves,” I say with a laugh, slipping my coat off as Locke takes it from my shoulders and hangs it near the host stand. “Slavering hungry.”

Locke scans the seating along the endless teak table. Dad takes the seat right at the head, settling

in with that effortless aura of absolute command. Mayhem and Jade slip into the chairs across

from where Locke and I sit down.

Bishop pulls out a heavy armchair near Dad’s left side, propping his injured leg out at a

comfortable angle and resting his cane against the edge of the wood.

“Don’t look at me like that, Cobra,” Bishop grunts, catching Dad watching his leg. “The doc said I

gotta keep it extended when I sit for more than twenty minutes. I’m fine.”

“Didn’t say a word, Bishop,” Dad replies. “You do you, man.”

Locke looks over at Willow, who’s still hovering near the edge of the room, looking a little overwhelmed by the sheer size and noise of the MC.

“Willow,” Locke says, his voice carrying over the noise. He points to an empty chair further down the table, right beside Stitch. “Take that seat next to Stitch.”

Jade grins, stepping in to reinforce the placement with an innocent wave of hand.

“Yeah, head over there, sweetie,” she says. “I had the kitchen set all the plant-based and vegan plates on that end of the table so you wouldn’t have to dodge any of the grilled octopus or beef

skewers.”

Willow blinks, her head snapping toward Stitch. Stitch looks up from his glass, his dark, sharp eyes locking onto hers with unhurried intensity. A sudden, deep crimson blush flares wildly across Willow’s cheeks, burning all the way up to the tips of her ears.

She hastily tugs at her cardigan sleeves, murmuring a quiet, stuttered, “Oh… okay,” before dropping into the seat next to the club medic, keeping her eyes glued firmly to her water glass.

Stitch doesn’t say a word, but he reaches for the heavy ceramic teapot sitting between them, lifting it smoothly.

“Green tea?” Stitch asks.

“Umm… yes, please,” Willow says, clearly surprised.

Stitch pours the steaming, fragrant liquid into a clean porcelain cup, pushing it gently toward her.”

It’s sourced from organic jasmine leaves. No cross-contamination with chemicals.”

Willow looks up in surprise, her eyes wide as she looks at him through her dark lashes. “You
