Arguments-1
The day had drained tva in ways she could not fully explain, as if every hour had taken a small piece of her strength and quietly kept it, leaving her body heavy and her thoughts slower, yet strangely calmer than they had been the night before.
She moved through the final moments of her shift almost on instinct, her hands working, her feet carrying her from one place to another, while her mind floated somewhere distant, deliberately avoiding the one place it kept trying to return to.
Caleb.
No.
She pressed her lips together as she wiped down the last surface/forcing her focus back to the present, because thinking of him led nowhere good, only to questions that had no answers and emotions that refused to settle.
Still, she could not deny one thing.
She was grateful.
Grateful for the exhaustion.
Grateful for the distraction.
Because for a few hours, she had not thought about him constantly, had not replayed every second of their night together, had not wondered why everything had changed so suddenly, so coldly.
But now, as the day ended and silence crept back in, the thoughts returned.
Uninvited.
Unforgiving.
Her chest tightened slightly as she grabbed her small bag and stepped outside, the cool evening air brushing against her skin, grounding her just enough to keep her moving.
“He just vanished…” she murmured under her breath, her voice barely audible even to Herself.
One moment, he had been there.
Close.
Intense.
Unavoidable.
And the next-
Gone.
Not just physically.

<Arguments.
Emotionally.
Completely.
Her fingers tightened around the strap of her bag as she walked.
Claim
His cold attitude the last time she saw him still lingered in her mind, sharp and confusing, so different from the man who had held her, who had looked at her as if she mattered, as if she belonged to him in a way that went beyond words, the man who placed a temporary marking bond on her.
And now…
Nothing.
No message.
No call.
No explanation.
“Not even a text,” she whispered, a faint bitterness slipping through despite her efforts to stay composed.
Radio silence.
As if that night had meant nothing.
As if she had meant nothing.
She shook her head slightly, as if she could physically push the thoughts away, and forced her steps to continue down the familiar path that led her somewhere far more important.
Her little treasure.
Hidden.
Protected.
Untouched by the chaos of everything else.
The small building looked ordinary from the outside, almost forgettable, but inside it held the only sense of security she truly had.
The rented safety box.
Her secret.
She stepped inside quietly, exchanging a brief nod with the attendant before making her way to the back, her movements careful and practiced.
When she finally opened the small metal box, her shoulders relaxed just a little.
Inside were her documents, neatly arranged, and the modest amount of money she had managed to save, every bill representing hours of work, effort, and quiet determination.
She stared at it for a moment.
