The Messenger( Iva) novel Chapter 292

Council Decission-3

Lori’s hands curled into fists.

“That’s a lie,” she said, her voice shaking with anger. “They know that’s a lie.”

Attia crossed the room and took her hands in his.

“I know,” he said softly. “But they have powerful allies on the Council. They’ve been building this case for weeks. They’re going to try to destroy us, Lori. They’re going to try to tear us apart.”

Lori looked into his eyes-those dark, beautiful eyes that had seen so much pain, so much loss.

“Then let them try,” she said fiercely. “I’m not going to let them win.”

Attia’s expression was conflicted.

“I’m worried,” he admitted. “My parents have Council members in their pocket. They can fabricate evidence. They can twist the truth. They will massacre your reputation, Lori. They will make you look like a scheming, manipulative gold-digger who trapped an unsuspecting Alpha.”

Lori’s chin lifted.

“I don’t care,” she said, her voice steady. “I don’t care what they say about me. I don’t care what they do to my reputation. As long as I am with you, I can survive anything.”

Attia’s eyes glistened.

“Lori-”

“I mean it.” She squeezed his hands. “Let them bring their evidence. Let them fabricate their lies. Let them try to tear us apart. They won’t succeed. Because what we have is real. It’s true. And no Council, no family, no power in this world can change that.”

Attia pulled her into his arms, holding her so tightly she could barely breathe.

They stood there for a long moment, wrapped in each other’s arms, drawing strength from the bond that had brought them together.

Then Lori pulled back and looked him in the eye.

“Bring it on,” she said, a fierce smile on her lips.

The morning of the hearing dawned cold and grey.

Lori dressed carefully, choosing a simple navy dress that was modest and professional. She pinned her hair back, applied a touch of makeup, and stared at her reflection in the mirror.

She looked calm.

She did not feel calm.

< Council Decision-3

Attia appeared behind her, his hands resting on her shoulders. He was dressed in a dark suit, his hair neatly combed, his face set in determined lines.

“Are you ready?” he asked.

Lori met his gaze in the mirror.

“I’m ready,” she said.

They walked out of the villa together, hand in hand.

The car was waiting.

The road to the Council chambers stretched before them, winding through the mountains like a dark ribbon.

And at the end of it, their future hung in the balance.

Claim

The Council chamber was packed.

Every seat was filled with spectators-pack leaders, nobles, wolves who had come to witness the spectacle. The air was thick with tension, heavy with whispered speculation and barely suppressed excitement.

Lori walked in with her head high, her shoulders straight, her hand clasped tightly in Attia’s.
