The Messenger( Iva) novel Chapter 293

Appeal-1

The Council chamber was deathly silent.

Claim

Lori’s heart pounded so loudly she was certain everyone could hear it. Her hand was clasped tightly in Attia’s, her fingers cold and trembling. She had prepared for a fight. She had prepared for accusations, for evidence, for a long and grueling battle.

She had not prepared for this.

The head Council member’s voice echoed through the chamber, each word landing like a hammer blow.

“Based on the evidence presented by concerned parties,” he intoned, his ancient eyes fixed on them with cold detachment, “the Council has reached the conclusion that the bond between Lorelei Thompson and Attia Scott was coerced. That Miss Thompson, through manipulation and exploitation of her physical condition, forced Headmaster Scott into a mating against his will.”

Lori felt the blood drain from her face.

Her grip on Attia’s hand tightened until her knuckles went white.

“That is not true,” she whispered, but her voice was too small to carry.

The head Council member continued, relentless.

“Furthermore, the Council finds that this relationship constitutes an immoral arrangement, given that Headmaster Scott holds a position of authority over Miss Thompson as her headmaster and teacher. The power imbalance inherent in such a relationship presents a dangerous precedent and a poor example for the new generations.”

Attia’s face went pale.

His jaw tightened. His hand, still clasped in Lori’s, trembled with barely contained rage..

In the second row, Iva’s hand flew to her mouth. Beside her, Caleb’s expression had gone dark, his amber eyes blazing with fury.

“This is a massacre,” Caleb mind-linked Iva, his voice tight with anger. “The Scotts didn’t spare any resource to get their way.”

“Can they do this?” Iva asked, her mental voice trembling. “Can the Council enforce their separation?”

“As long as they are part of an official pack, the Council is the law,” Caleb replied, his voice heavy with regret. “In these cases, not even the royal family has a say.”

Iva’s heart ached for her best friend.

She watched Lori stand before the Council, her small frame trembling, her face pale as death. She watched Attia’s expression harden into stone, his eyes burning with a fury that he was barely containing.

< Appeal 1

In-front of the Council, Lori felt like she was fainting.

Claim

The room was spinning. The faces of the Council members blurred before her eyes. She could feel the poisonous looks from the Scott family, could feel Monica’s triumphant sneer, could feel the weight of the judgment pressing down on her.

She squeezed Attia’s hand,

“Attia,” she mind-linked him, her voice breaking. “Attia,

She couldn’t continue.

Attia’s face was stone.

But beneath the surface, he was boiling.

The head Council member continued, his voice crisp and decisive.

“Considering the evidence, the Council hereby orders the dissolution of the bond between Lorelei Thompson and Attia Scott. The mating is declared null and void. All claims of the bond are hereby terminated.”

The words hung in the air.
