The Moment I Stepped Into His World as the Fake Girlfriend, I Became the Real Prize novel Chapter 119

Assuming the young man wouldn't turn around anytime soon, Elena was struggling to slide the bathrobe off using only one hand.

She had only managed to get it halfway down when he whipped around. Startled, she frantically yanked the quilt up to cover her chest.

"Sterling, why did you turn around?"

As she frowned and asked the question, the young man's face flushed a deep crimson, and he aggressively spun back around to face the wall.

"I should be asking you that! What the hell are you doing?"

"What does it look like? I'm trying to sleep."

The girl answered as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, only to be met with a vicious snarl from the young man whose back was still turned.

"You are not allowed to take your clothes off!"

Hearing that, her eyes widened. She looked down at the thick robe. "Nobody sleeps in a heavy bathrobe. It's totally uncomfortable..."

"Then suffer!"

He cut her off through gritted teeth, his tone leaving zero room for negotiation.

Seeing his absolute refusal, Elena guessed what he was freaking out about and tried to compromise. "How about this? I'll slip the robe off under the covers. That way, I'll be completely wrapped up and you won't see anything..."

"No! Keep it on!"

Sterling's fists were clenched tight at his sides, completely shutting down the conversation.

Elena was out of options. Leaning forward and propping her good arm on the edge of his mattress, she studied his rigid silhouette and offered her critique. "Sterling, if you can't even handle a tiny little test like this, how are you supposed to stay faithful to the woman you love..."

"If you don't shut up right now, I'm docking your pay."

He silenced her instantly. Those few words were far more effective than a lengthy argument.

God, she hated rich people!

Elena snapped her mouth shut and lay back down, fully clothed in the thick bathrobe.

Soon after, the lights clicked off, plunging the room into darkness.

Up on the massive bed, Sterling stared wide-eyed at the ceiling, completely unable to sleep.

He had forbidden the girl from moving, yet he was the one tossing and turning in the dark.

The hyper-awareness of having a woman sleeping in his room was keeping him agonizingly awake.

In stark contrast, the girl had adapted perfectly and was already fast asleep.

Time dragged on. He didn't know how long it had been, but the sky outside was just beginning to lighten when exhaustion finally started to drag him under.

Right on the edge of sleep, he vaguely heard some movement nearby. It sounded like the girl had gotten up to use the bathroom.
